Remind me... Why did the tax payer pay to celebrate her Jubilee?

My next birthday I'm going to round up tramps and vagabonds and make them pay for a messy night out in Mayfair.

Country is a joke and the Royal family are just a media circus with a very good PR team.

More than happy to remind you mate, the answer is nothing.

We paid for security and the minimal cost of the service at St Pauls, more than recouped by the 1.5 million tourists to London. Barge on river paid for with private donations and concert with sponsorship.

    Hope that helps.

I thought the germans had loads of money, so why do we have to pay anything at all for a family called Saxe-coburg to have a knees up?

We pay in the same we we pay for any public servant but in their case a lot less, don't know the figures but I do know w are in profit. Thought you republicans would be on the side of the public servants getting a fair days pay for a fair days work, maybe we are seeing what it would be like.

There has been no Saxe-Coburgs in this country since the start of the First World War. The amount it cost per taxpayer is approximately 6p. A president would cost more and you would end up paying for a politician who would favour his cronies over the public good

It's fine to not be royalist you know, you can simply prefer different system without having to come out with the same stuff about cost. Not that long ago we had a civil list that meant we paid for lots of minor royals who seemed to do little, those days are gone and can we not at least give the Queen some credit for that.
