Has it been signed, yet? That is the real question - we knew this last night. Binding??? Or just agreed in principle?!
I think if Mike White tweets there is a press conference tomorrow (him being one of the press) you can assume it's true.
On rare occasions they'll put notice of this on the OWS but normally it would just be a press release to relevant media and funnily enough that wouldnt find it's way on to the internet.
On Look North it seemed they had not come to an agreement but were still discussing terms. I think the wording is working towards a 2pm press conference. Its not a done deal yet. Can anyone tell me what usually goes on in these meetings. Will Steve Bruce be telling them what kind of budget he expects and will it have got as far as him stipulating which players he would like to keep or go for.
Yes, and that's normal. As someone who calls and attends pressers all the time I'd say 99% arent reported until they're actually underway.
I would expect, if you look at what happens with other managers, Bruce's deal will now be done - what the negotiations will be about will be seeing what kind of backroom they can build together. Who he will want from the current staff, and if City can lure away any of Bruce's favourite people. So, what will happen to Watkiss, who I believe is still with us. I believe Bruce's usual number two has taken a job with Kean at Blackburn - so we may be trying to get him. Can't remember what he's called.
