I've had 200 quid at 6/1 on a Conservative / Lib Dem coallition government, 10/11 now - mon to **** Clegg get into bed with the Tories 1400 quid swing for me <ok>

Not that I would normally want the Tories in Government at all, I just thought it was going to happen so take the 6/1.

i dont like the tories but i'm leaning towards tory/lib dem as i dont think a lib/lab coalition is strong enough, i also think a tory/lib dem would represent most of the electorate so would be fair, i dont think that AV is enough though, even though it is electoral reform we'll see **** all change, so i dont know what else they would offer them as getting in with the tories will be a kick in the teeth to many liberals especially once they cut everything to the bone. whereas in the 70's a lib/lab coalition was screwed over by the nationalists and this led to disenchantment with the gov (the two minority parties, as is the case now) and maggie thatcher getting in! its a potential catch 22.

I think Miliband will get it - simply because he looks young and like a chat show host like Cameroon and Clegg. I remember when Miliband first came onto the scene I thought he was going to be in a leadership contest because of his appearence even when I had no idea who he was. It seems everyone wants a new version of Blair.

Ed Balls is getting backed in from 10 into 6/1. That guy talks like a ****** with a lisp, would be Britains version of George W.

i think he'll get it for the same reasons but i put my money on alistair darling and harriet harman just because they had decent odds and remember john major, william hague etc.

people were vying for milliband to try and oust GB a couple of years ago but that would've been political suicide as he'd then have to captain a sinking labour ship through the election (the tories really ****ed this up when you look at it, they should've been able to destroy labour with the levels of disaffection in the country). i think the best route for labour (not neccesarily the country) and david milliband is to go into opposition, regroup, generally be outraged by the brutal cuts the tories will impliment and go on to win the next general election. it'd be good for DM as a new leader as well as its a lot easier to look good in opposition <ok>

the paint on that jeeps standing up quite well <ok>

anyway, i know what you mean. before an election they bang on about how we dont have a presidential system, then when it suits them its how he/she wont be an "elected" PM. does my ****ing head in <grr>

the nick griffin argument is ridiculous as well, we live in a ****ing democracy. if enough people (rightly or wrongly) believe one thing it should be reflected in our parliament

always thought a houses of parliament royal rumble is how you should elect a gov. you still vote for your local MP, lab, lib dem, tory as normal but majorities etc dont matter, its only when they get to westminster on the first day of the new parliament and its whichever young team wins that sets up the gov. i'd also pass legislation so that they had to pass some sort of MP test (to vet out cage fighters etc) as i want to see fat old men punching **** out of each other and occaisionally harriet harman <ok>

shame paddy ashdowns not in anymore

Headline would read "TOED IN THE BALLS" with a picture of Ed Balls getting kicked in his namesakes

They should do the same thing for the Labour leader elections. Put them in a cage and fight to the death. Gordon Brown could referee, then be sacrificed brutally once it's over <ok>
