I was fascinated to discover that Cardiff who have always played in a blue shirt similar to ours throughout their history, are now henceforth to change their colours to red in order to indulge the wishes of their Malaysian sponsors!
I have a lot of time for our sponsors Samsung, but if they asked us to play in red, they'd certainly have to get a two fingered salute as far as I'm concerned! Can you imagine it? Us playing in red!

I would consider boycotting Chelsea if we changed our colour. Its more than just a colour, its an identity. After 107 years there's no way we'd change, especially not to red.

I've seen some footage today of fans tying up their scarfs and leaving them at the stadium. Not good news.

The blue that chelsea play in is the most beautiful blue that i have ever seen. As nissassa says it is more than just a colour. I would be gutted if i was a cardiff fan.

This is something that should be put to a vote to club members! If the financial gains are a do or die matter to keep the club inbusiness thats one thing! Otherwise its a no brainer!

This just shows the owners have no idea what the club means to the people who fund them week in week out.

Sorry to invade your board, our`s has been killed by matt21 again and yours is the most lively.

Firstly I concur with the main sentiments expressed here. Secondly I know red is considered very lucky in the far east. Thirdly the royal blue Chelsea wear is not the kit we played in. For our first fifteen seasons we wore pale blue shirts and white shorts, navy or white socks.

I know we tweak our kit annually for purely commercial reasons, but its what the fans want! I gave up buying tops years ago as I'm a bit too old for that sort of thing! I have in my "Chelsea Room " at home a large framed photograph on the wall of our very first side in 1905 in our pale blue kit. Nothing wrong with subtle alterations in varying shades of blue, but RED <yikes>
