ALAN PARDEW has lined up another Senegalese striker if Demba Ba quits Newcastle this summer.

Toon scouts have filed glowing reports on £6m-rated Copenhagen hitman Dame N’Doye and the Geordies are ready to pounce should Ba move on.

N’Doye, 27, scored 24 goals in 40 games last season and would jump at the chance of a move to England.

Twelve months ago he snubbed a mega-rich deal to join Saudi outfit Al-Bilal, claiming his next planned career step was into the Premier League.

Newcastle can’t stop Ba leaving due to a release clause in his contract which kicks in if any club tables a £7.5m bid.

Sounds good, but also sounds like a variation on the theme of any decent French player being linked with us cos we have French players. They are just adding on Senegalese players now.

Prefer to keep Ba if at all possible.

Not sure about paying that sort of money for someone scoring in the Danish league.

If there is substance in it hen at least it shows that we now have a transfer policy where we are planning for all eventualities rather than panicking when someone leaves. Again, IF we go for him, I think Carr and Pardew have shown that they will have done their homework. If they think he's worth it I'll be happy enough. He's at the upper end of the age range we go for though.

Would like to see Ba stay, he's a proven goal scorer in the prem. Agree about us being linked to everything French and now Senegalese.

I think if Ba could just give up this desire to be in the spotlight constantly like he was for the last 3 years of his career at his clubs, before Cisse joined, he could play a very key part.

We wont be playing Cisse every game, we need to rotate. Ba would still be getting around 25 apps in the ST position.

N'Doye would be a canny replacement like

Just all seems very unlikely based on the story to me. I have no doubt they'll have a number of targets lined up so I wouldn't worry on that front. I just can't see us paying 7.5m for a 27 yr old playing in Denmark. Just not what we do these days. I expect Ba to stay to be honest unless Adebayor gets too rich for Spurs.

I agree with you. I think the story is bullshit. Was just meaning at least now we know there will be targets lined up, even if (as it probably isnt) its not this one. Its not that long ago our transfers weren't that well thought out

There was a thing a while ago where Pardew said that for each position, they had three targets ranked in order of who they would want to replace each player. It wouldn't surprise me if N'Doye is one of these, being very similar to the Ba and Cisse.
