http://nothingbutnewcastle.com/2012/06/blogs/newcastle-disagreement-on-french-swoop Pardew should not doubt Graham Carr I mean how can he ? I hope Pardew doesn't start getting too up his own arse. On another note Douglas can **** off to the bigger club than Newcastle and hopefully live to regret it.
In Carr we trust, yes. However, I truly believe that Pards should always have final say over incomings. Not a case of him being up his own arse. Cissoko might have talent that Carr has spotted, but what if he doesn't fit into the system/plans Pards and management have in place? Obviously Carr and Pards will have discussions over this type of issue but whereas it's in Carr we trust with scouting, Pardew must always have last say over players incoming IMO! Also, completely agree that Douglas can sod off if he wants to wait for this "bigger club". Seems like quite an arrogant chap from a few interviews I've read!
To be fair to Pardew he can only see what's in front of him, and Cissoko has been canny ****e this season
So just because Carr has spotted a few gems that means Pardew should have no say and just sign anyone Carr tells him too? The manager should have the final word.
We have agreed to sign Romain Amalfitano, previously of Reims, when he becomes a free agent on July 1st.
No.. The scouts can spot great players, but Pardew is the best person to decide whether or not he can play a role in the team.
As I see it, its a scouting team's job to have a lot more targets than we will actually go for. They provide the manager with a range of targets and he decides which of them he goes for.
Spot on in my mind! You've just summed up in one line the point I was trying to get across in a large paragraph before! Haha!
I reckon its cos he looks like a cross between Homer Simpson and Yakubu in that picture: please log in to view this image
I'd like him as I think the lad is a good player and a bit of a beast. Not really bothered though as long as we get a first choice left back this summer.
