**** me we scored some good goals this season. everyone remembers Cisse but damn Ba scored some absolute screamers.
Forgot all about Jonas scoring 2 great individual goals against Wolves, forgot all about Obertan actually scoring a goal!!

 

...and i forgot about Besty's early form, we were all tipping him to be Carroll's replacement! Handy squad player next season!!

 

That vid reminded me off 5 things:

1. Ba was ****ing awesome early this season
2. Best is actually really good, miles better than Shola
3. Jonas doesn't score many, but when he does, they are truly sexual
4. That goal from Cisse...
5. Obertan has a ****ing huge head

Best scored mostly tap ins.

 

I do feel a bit sorry for Best... was good a lot of the times we needed him this season.

Video reminded me of quite a few players we have who don't get much game time- Obertan (probably deservedly) and Gosling, as well as Besty. I wonder what the future holds for them?

 

Nice vid. Agree about Besty. Very underated and has done more than enough to earn our appreciation.

 

What a season we've had, not many standard goals in the bunch the majority were absolute belters!

Really hope we can keep Ba AND Cisse and hope that Pardew can get them to gel together or at least persuade Ba to be happy in the providing role on the left.

Would like to see us keep hold of Best, you can say what you want about him but when he plays he scores goals and that's all I want from a backup striker, scored a couple of lovely goals aswell.

Another point is the improvement of Cabaye towards the back end of the season, he was always good but I found him quite anonymous in a lot of games, but that was probably down to the way he was playing more defensively, once he was given license to get forward I think he must have made about 6 or 7 assists in the final 10 games. Really hope we keep hold of him in the summer.

Cisse is just on another level. 13 goals and only one tap in, the rest were corkers.

 

Really opens your eyes to the roles Best and Shola play in the team.

Ba is still, IMO, the better all round player, but without a doubt Cisse is the better goals scorer.

 

I'm actually on the fence about that one, every game Cisse played for us this season I saw him getting involved heavily in the build up play to most attacks, not to mention working tirelessly to get back and defend when we were under the cosh. If we were to compare start of season Ba to end of season Cisse, I think even the best pundits/critics/fans would be hard pressed to choose between them. Its so close.

 

Best may not be the best player, but when you give him a chance, he will score goals for you !
