    If we only have 9 million in the accounts, how are we staying afloat? I don't get that part.

    at least another £160m in easy access funds..... bit like your Building Soc account.

    Plus cash coming in from various sources all the time ie cashflow.

    I understand the point, but to be fair Nick Powell has been very very good for Crewe at a young age. I agree that we really do need to focus a lot more money than what we're looking like we're going to spend again (basically nothing) on really good players. Seeing Man U sign Kagawa and Chelsea get Hazard is pretty sickening when our club has really shown no real intent.

    We have to wait and see guys. We've already signed Podolski if we can keep RVP and add perhaps a quality midfielder we would have had a successful summer. All those things re still highly possible.

    Better to be positive IMO

    So far, Utd have signed one player, City have added nobody, Liverpool have added nobody, Newcastle have added nobody and Spurs have added nobody. Chelsea have spent SEVENTY million on two. We have signed a quality striker in Podolski, so I don't really think that we can accuse the club of watching other clubs add quality whilst we trail behind. I'd expect us to make at least one more signing this window and I expect us to keep RVP too.

    If it all goes tits up and RVP leaves and we don't sign anybody else, then fair enough criticise the club, but at the moment we are showing more intent than some of our rivals.

    I agree we need to invest substantially.more this summer in addition to pod and gazidis needs to explain himself. However i disagree with your stance on nick powell who i think we should pull out all stop to get though i know im in a minority.

    The other teams around us don't need to strengthen like we do.

    The main point is, we know we need to strengthen and we know there are players out there to be bought who can improve us, so why are we not signing players now, while they are still available, what are we waiting for ? Clearly NOTHING has been learned from last season.

    I am concerned by the lack of action but there is still hope for this summer. Keeping RVP, along with the signing of Poldi is a good platform to build on. Add M'vila (or someone of similar quality and style) and a quality back up striker and I will be fairly pleased with our squad. With Bouldy coaching the defence we could have a very effective and exciting team! If we don't keep RVP or fail to reinforce enough to encourage him to stay then things could really unravel and it will be a slap in the face to anyone who cares about Arsenal as a football team and not a business.

    Bouldy must look at the defence and wonder .. what the hell. WE are NEVER compact. Never ! But is that because of the game we play ? If we looked to get the ball forward quickly we wouldn't have to push half the team forward in an effort to break down teams who we give the time to get bodies behind the ball.

    With all due respect, Hazard and Kagawa are streets ahead of Podolski in terms of class. I like the lad, and think it's a good signing for us, but in terms of Hazard and Kagawa he simply doesn't compare- they're younger, already have probably more talent and have really bright futures ahead. Podolski, if he's a replacement for RVP shows we're getting a lot weaker, but if not then he's still not on par with the signings our competitors have made and therefore definitely should not be someone to point to when Chelsea or Man U sign an extremely talented player. Podolski was a good start to the transfer window, but we really do need to push on and bring in another good player to boost this side.

    I agree that we still need to sign at least one more player, preferably two. But I'd say that Podolski is a quality signing on a par with Hazard and Kagawa.

    <ok>

    The transfer window is barely just open and already people are condemning the club for a lack of activity, despite the fact that we've already signed a striker. As I'd mentioned, we all know how tight lipped Arsenal are on transfers. We may well be negotiating on several fronts as we speak. I just think we need to let Arsenal get on with it this summer without the constant sniping. If at the end of the summer we've ballsed it up, by all means criticise, but at the moment none of us know what's happening.

    Podolski is a fantastic signing, no doubt about it, got enough physical presence to handle the English league, has a block buster shot and shoots from outside the box. He ticks every box for me.

    Totally agree <ok> I'm basing this on RVP staying, but I think Podolski will be the best left sided attacking player we've had since Pires.
