It's the past now we need think about the present and the future. I think the city fans wanting him to do well at Villa need to sit back and have a big look at what has been happening. His not our manager anymore, his effectively attempted to screw us over I reckon Whitbread and Holt will join him at Villa and his been scheming this idea for a while. His the manager of a rival team one who I don't think very highly of at the moment and that makes him an enemy.
That's life. Business is like that managers come and go. Fans stay. It's no good to have a go at departing managers. Lambert is perfectly entitled to want to further his career. He has put us in a brilliant position. He isn't Norwich through and through.
Although Barton is going to be suspended for 12 games, QPR may let him go for nothing. This guy could turn out to be a Norwich legend if we could pick him up.
It's certainly a way of looking at it, Dave, but I'd still go along with KIO's view, or Northants... I really cannot see how any of you lot have got any time at all for Lambert at all now...
How the **** has he attempted to screw us over? He's just taken another job, like I'm sure you have at some point in your past - you weren't trying to screw your previous employers over, were you? If you're going to make a claim like that, at least back it up with evidence, not a hunch that Whitbread and Holt will join him, because Whitbread definitely will not, and neither will Holt, unless the price is acceptable to both clubs.
Come on guys, let's not fall out over this, we're all entitled to our opinions. Fact is Lambert is history we move on, let's debate who we'd like our successor to be
I hear CaisterCanary is hoping Glen Roeder will return for a second stint. He also wants Robert Chase to replace McNally.
Made our club look bad in press trying to use clauses in his contract to con us out of any compensation. I think that counts as screwing us over monetarily and we'll have to see what else comes to light over the next few months. I refuse to act like some happy clapping doormat 'Oh good luck Paul all the best' being nice get's you nowhere in this game.
Claims we've broken a clause by refusing him permission to talk to Villa, he supposedly has a clause his contract allowing him to talk to other PL clubs. Let's see what we find out over the next up and coming weeks. Sorry to destroy everyones romanticised view of Lambert.
Again, evidence? An article that actually reports this to be the case would be nice. And I'm sure we'll find nothing out in the upcoming weeks. As for being a 'doormat', that is untrue. Perhaps in your eyes it is, but I am speaking the truth - I am thankful for everything Lambert has done and genuinely wish him the best. Granted, I shan't be losing any sleep if Villa struggle next season, but why, after everything he's done for this club, should I be bitter and hope he fails? Good luck Lambo.
Interesting article. But nowhere does it say Lambert claims we've broken a clause. The disagreement mentioned in the article is between the two clubs, not Lambert and Norwich.
In case anyone missed it on the compensation thread, here's my assessment of this latest rumour about his contract:
