I tell you who I'd might take.

Bouba Diop who was released from WHU.

Not an amazing player, but could be good cover for Tiote, and used in an emergency.

He's so damn strong, like literally probably the strongest player in English football, besides Akinfenwe.

He's good in the air, and can score the odd goal if given chance to go forward.

He could come on late in a game to help seal a victory, add some muscle to the back and help us defend in the air.

 

I'd take Diame and Guthrie

 

Diame and possibly Pogrebnyak or Murphy.

 

I wouldn't, he's 34 and got released by a newly promoted WH side, says it all about the guy.

 

I would take Ledley King on pay as you play and Rodallega for extra depth up front.

Possibly Kalou aswell, hes not great but hes an upgrade on Obertan.

Releasing eleven players is an incredible thing to do considering our squad wasn't that big anyway!

I realise that Guthrie refused the contract offered to him and that he wants regular first-team football, but he was injured far too often and his form was erratic. I won't miss him... but we really need to start getting some fresh faces in, and quick.

 

Akinfenwa is just fat and an immovable object because of this. Not particularly strong in the conventional sense.

 

We will need a replacement for Tiote once chelsea cough up, however this man is not the answer at all.

 

Depardieu's a French name too, but I wouldn't want him.
