Yeah - but it is the Star.... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/254745/Uwe-Rosler-set-for-Hull-hotseat/?
I can't see it personally, I share a flat with an avid Brentford supporter and when I told him a week ago that Rosler was on oddschecker as a possibility then he didn't think he'd done enough by any means to be linked with a championship club. I doubt he's one on the shortlist, they also mention Megson too who I'd be more shocked with so can't see it. Horton is good friends with him, so there's your possible no.2 coach, he signed Rosler for Man City some years back and went to a playoff game together too. Betting has been suspended again so we can't see who is favourite, but this does happen when it's Sunday. Rosler has got Brentford playing some very decent football, but has also played some questionable styles, he will insist on the goalie rolling the ball out to a defender (which is normally nice to see) but his defenders aren't that good, get pressurised and end up defending it and sitting deep.
It's a piss-poor article, as far as we're aware we've not made any approach from Bruce or Abbott, so Rosler is probably bollocks too.
I wouldn't be surprised if Assem and Ehab had never heard of Uwe Rosler until someone told them his name had appeared on oddschecker.
very much doubt we're in for this guy. its laughable really that the media keep guessing like this.. "sources tell us its going to be..." "hull city's next manager will be..." when the reality is they haven't got a clue. it was nailed on to be steve bruce a few days ago, they even stopped taking bets on him because they were that sure... then the next morning bruce's agent said its all bollocks and there's been no approach by us. and now, oh look, its Uwe Rosler.. pff.. im sure they'll come full circle soon and say its Billy Davies again..
If it was him do you think he may bring Clayton Donaldson back to the KC? He's been getting a few goals over the last couple of seasons, I think he was League two's top scorer when he was at Crewe before moving to Brentford...
I have spoken to someone who speaks to the Allams. Allams have signed and sealed a manager but will not give away who at this moment. I feel this rules out Rosler as if this were true surely there would be a leak at their end and the information would be in the public domain which it isn't. My gut is saying Bruce or McCarthy.
If it's soemone to 'shout about' they might wait for maximum publicity rather than battle with a huge national event and a bank holiday. Just a guess . If it's **** then today wouldve been the perfect day to announce it. Actually they shouldve announced the price rises today, the disabled furore wouldve been buried.
Because Bruce would be a relatively 'big name' manager in this division we would be recognised by the media as contenders for promotion if he came. This would also make us a more attractive club for our transfer targets. However if he is luke-warm at best about coming here (which is the feeling I'm getting from the articles linking him) then we should look elsewhere. The manager needs to have the passion to inspire the players and the players will soon suss him out if he's only here for a pay packet. I don't know anything about Rosler other than he played for Germany and you've got to be a bit good to do that.
How come some people are still saying it could be Bruce. Just can't see him coming here. On another thread a poster quoting a business associate of the Allams has said that it is someone that has not been mentioned and they are finding it very amusing that all these other names are being mentioned.
This doesn't stack up. I don't think people will not comment even if they are doing something else when they hear the news. I am of the opinion they are messing up the search.
