    Gentleman (and woman-maybe!)

Please put forward your predictions for the League next year and then we can see how we compare with each other and how it actualy finishes.

    - Make sure you include the top 8 and bottom 3 if you don't want to do the whole League.

    For me it's:

    1. Manchester City
    2. Chelsea
    3. Manchester United
    4. Arsenal
    5. Tottenham
    6. Liverpool
    7. Newcastle
    8. Everton
    9. Fulham
    10. Aston Villa
    11. Stoke
    12. Sunderland
    13. Southampton
    14. West Ham
    15. Reading
    16. Wigan
    17. West Brom
    18. Norwich
    19. Swansea
    20. QPR

Very difficult to predict I think. I see Chelsea and maybe Arsenal putting on a charge - United could easily react and win the League - but I think they're short of a few players.. Difficult between us and Necastle.

I think Norwich and Swansea will go down if they dont make the right appointments.

This could be the season Wigan and West Brom go down.

    1. Manchester City
    2. Chelsea
    3. Manchester United
    4. Liverpool
    5. Arsenal
    6. Tottenham
    7. Newcastle
    8. Everton
    ...
    18. Wigan
    19. QPR
    20. Reading

I know Berbs and co will come here spouting their tripe about how great united are and how they'll always be challening...but really, City and Chelsea are going to spend so much this summer that United can't/won't be able to compete. The fact they've already signed Scholes on for another season shows their 'ambitions' of strengthening their squad. Their defense isn't great anymore, their centre midfield is poor or old and Rooney is carrying the attack on his own (Welbeck will step up though imo next year, he needs to). Fergie will pull a good season out his arse as always, but third is my thought - unless he buys heavily to keep up pace. I don't think he will.

Arsenal will lose RVP and drop lack a sack of ****.

Spurs without CL football will lose 2/3 of their team and won't have Adebayor anymore.

I don't see Newcastle having the squad depth to compete on multiple fronts. They might lose a few players to top teams, and always the risk of injuries catching up.

Liverpool...well, I'm optimistic. But 3/4 right signings and we'll be up there competing for 4th, but off the pace for top 3. I'll be happy with that. We're really not far off, despite the wums.

QPR to go down? You're havin' a laugh in't ya?

I guarantee we'll be challenging you for 9th or 10th next season. We're on the up and don't you forget it.

Interesting points. It depends on who United buy to where they will be. Fergie will be highly moticated to win this year which is why I wouildn't be surprised if they won.

It is true they're definately short of a few players.

Us forth? Brave call mate! I think we need a good 4 top quality players for that to happen, and I don't see that happening with our budget.

I think this year will be about bedding in and laying the foundations. You never know though.

I'd put money on you not being in the top 12-14.

You might not go down. You might finish above Norwich, Swansea, Wigan and West Brom, but I cannot see it any higher.

There's no reason why we shouldn't be competing with Sunderland, Fulham, Liverpool etc next season. Its the next stage in our development - to get away from the sh*t Clubs and establish ourselves as a Mid-Table side.

I agree that is the next stage but I'm not convinced you'll make that next season. I'm happy to be proven wrong though!

Don't think you'll be within 6 places of us.

Care to put down your predictions?

4th mostly because I don't see Spurs or Arsenal getting stronger, probably weaker and I see us not making leaps forward as such, but strengthening our weak areas.

United need to buy to compete. It's that simple. Scholes(or giggs) and Carrick as a midfield pairing is nothing compared to what Chelsea and City will have by the end of the summer. I would be really concerned at the moment if I were a United fan. Not enough energy and not enough protection for the defense.

Well, the fact that Man Utd have been written off by some fans and sections of the media every season for the past 10 years only for Man Utd to make them look stupid. Is that enough?

There were people saying we'd finish outside the top 4 this season just gone for ****s sake. In the end we were miles ahead of 3rd place.

    <laugh>. Good one Kopite!

Its fairly clear now I'm on the wind up. Seriously, the 'Pool can have a real good season. Top 4 and maybe the FA Cup.

Eventually its about winning the League and competing for the CL but Rodgers needs time and patience. Something that, to be fair to Liverpool fans, do give to their Managers. Maybe a top 4 isn't essential this Season but its certainly obtainable.

Give the man 3 years with year on year progress and you could find yourselves right back on top.

No, that's not enough at all. You can't defend your possibilities for next year by talking about the previous 10.

Do you honestly believe your squad is good enough to compete with City and Chelsea next year? Do you think you'll spend enough to match them? Do you need to? Are Scholes/Giggs/Carrick good enough and fit enough for a full season? The fact that you've yet againt called Scholes back shows real lack of ambition in Fergie to buy big for a quality midfielder imo. Does Rooney have enough quality alongside him? Young, Nani and Valencia are top wingers who chip in with goals, but Rooney is your only quality striker, Welbeck still young - not good enough for Europe yet. Defensively, Vidic is a question mark on injuries, Ferdinand getting older, Jones not shown enough yet but will learn against next season. Rafael/Fabio are average, Evra most fans seem to want replaced, Jones I think is alright, but not good enough for CL football...etc etc.

I have no doubt you'll perform well next season as always, Fergie will bring you close and you'll be comfortably ahead of us, but I don't think you have the quality to beat City or Chelsea.

Discuss berbs, not just blindly throw out statements about the last 10 years having been written off. What gives you confidence in your players for next season?

We've just finished absolutely miles and miles ahead of 3rd place, and even further ahead of Chelsea despite having a very weak midfield. Chances are we will sign a couple of midfielders this summer to strengthen the weak point of our team so on that basis it will take a massive improvement from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea for us to finish outside the top 3. Chelsea don't even have a Manager yet and people are saying they'll finish above a team managed by the best Manager in the Premier League's history!

    I think this is pretty difficult to do considering we don't know which signings are going to be made, i personally did one last year and only got 4 positions correct FFS and that was in September. I'd also done another one in January in which i only got 3 correct so my predictions are fairly useless but anyways;
    1- City
    2- United
    3- Chelsea
    4- Spurs
    5- Arsenal
    6- Liverpool
    7- Everton
    8-Fulham
    9 Newcastle
    10- Sunderland
    11- Villa
    12- QPR
    13- Stoke
    14- West ham
    15- West Brom
    16-Swansea
    17- Southampton
    18- Norwich
    19- Reading
    20- Wigan
