Thought Mark Douglas said he was staying. Think they just like linking our players with other clubs.

 

How they have changed indeed, when we were achieving top 4 our net spend rarely exceeded £15m in a season...in fact it was negative when we pushed Utd to the title. So if the rumour of £20m to spend is true, most of us would welcome this as it is more than what is usually available to us in the market.

So far the owners have got their wallet out and spent about £30m of their own money, unfortunately they have over spent about £40m on the players we bought (Downing +£10m, Henderson +£10m, Carroll +£20m). With Rodgers in charge and a couple of sales I would hope he would spend a bit more wisely and make better use of that £20m to get us back into the top 6.

 

I think we will sell more players than most are expecting. We will try and do what we did last summer and replace them with cheaper players the think are worth more money if they do well.

 

We don't want to offend Sir Alex, we should just hand him over like the good club we are.

 

I hope you are wrong. I can see maybe a couple going, though I do believe it will be silly money if they do. I don't think Pardew will want to break up the current batch too much. He will want to build on what we have, not rebuild from the bottom up. It would also be a lot harder getting away with a rebuilding program when we're also in a European campaign. Maybe its just wishful thinking but I'm expecting most of the ones we want to keep to still be around next year.

 

Most of your more valued players seem quite content with their lot and the team seems to have a strong team ethic.
