Well, now that Lambert is officially Villa's manager the one question on my mind is: how on Earth did Villa manage to take him from us? I honestly don't understand what their attraction is at all. I really doubt they have any more money than us, and any amount they do surely isn't worth leaving behind a team of much better players.

I'm not complaining about the tactics Lambert/Villa use to achieve this; no worse than what we did to Colchester, I am just miffed as to why Lambert went to a pretty mediocre side.

I see it as an opportunity to take what should be a good team, that is currently crap, back to the good times - just as he did with us.

He will look like a phenomenal manger and get a top job when he is board of the Brummies <laugh>

I think we always knew it would be one of Villa, Everton, Newcastle and this was the first one that came up.

Its a challenge, and if he succeeds, he will get a really big job no question.

You should get a lot more than a Million compensation for him, he is a top manager, that would be a piss take if you only got that.

Outside of Norfolk it is pretty obvious that Aston Villa are a considerably larger club with far more potential than little old Norwich. <doh>

Your players have been massively overachieving well above their natural level of League One. It was never going to last forever, and given your form in the run-in, Lambert knew it was time to jump ship. Given that relegation for Norwich is inevitable next season, quite sensibly Lambert wanted to cash in his stock rather than stick around and have a relegation stain his CV.

I’m delighted to see that you budgerigars are so deliciously BITTER. You’re hardly taking the bitter pill as magnanimously as you promised when I correctly foretold that Lambert would be off faster than a rat up a drain pipe when a better offer came his way. Live by the sword, die by the sword my feathered little yellow beaked foes. <ok>

There is no way we will get more than £1,000,000 for him. As he is only on a 1 year rolling contract it is only around a years worth of wages, plus Culverhouse and Karsa assuming they follow him. Sadly the compensation amount is more based on his contract than how well he has done.

What is that £500,000 profit? Not too bad when you look at it like that is it, plus he provided us with millions by getting us to the prem

Ohh I thought he had a longer contract, I understand now as the compensation is going to be just below one years wage normally. Sad that it is only that amount but hopefully you can get someone decent for that amount.

Sadly not. It is a bit strange that money for managers is based on the terms of their current deals, while signing players is more based on their ability and how much the club value them at

Well now he's gone we can concentrate on the future. At least the people who are loyal to the club are the fans hopefully a majority of the squad.

Here's to the future of Norwich!
