The price of success never fails To disappoint some on its way, For all of us here and in Wales It does seem a bit much to pay But we should just remember too If PL does complete this move, The dark times that we all went through Before he helped us so improve We shouldn´t begrudge him one bit If he thinks it´s time to move on, He´s left us feeling more than fit In the last three years that have gone But sad it will certainly be Not having him leading our team, If, despite David McNally He leaves us to further his dream The worst of this messy affair Would be if it drags on too long, And also if some favourites here Should join in with his future throng It does seem normal though, these days To come back and sift off the cream, When managers do go their way So expect some to leave the scene This is how he seems to move on From club to club, by resigning, Irrespective of how things have gone So no point in endless pining I thank him for what he has done And wish him good speed on his way, In my view all parties have won From having him with us to stay Let´s look to the future, and bat On in the next innings that´s here, With one more bunny out of the hat From ´super Mac´ to bring us cheer. Managers will always come and go, some we´ll be glad to see the back of, some we won´t, but the club will always be bigger than the man. OTBC
Hi RBF, that sums things up beautifully! At least he didn't promise he would stay a la Brendon Rogers! While we have David McNally holding the reins, I feel we're in safe hands! Best wishes to Rex and, of course, to his adoptive parents!
Excellent as always RBF and for me, you're statement that I've copied above is something we should all heed in the coming weeks and months.
Hi RBF bor, been quite a week for us Norwich fans, nothing new under the sun. There is a twist to the onsueing saga according to the Mail, Villa are contending that Norwich are in breach of contract with Lambert and trying to avoid paying compensation. Goto BBC Sport Gossip. Very interesting. In my estimation, according to the BBC statement, it all hinges on one word . . . "he" Give Rex a bone for me please but not one of yours LOL.
these things never end well and Villa now trying to not pay up will only cause grief when we are all ready to say a fond farewell to the man has done so much. I am mainly dissapointed he did not do one more year and finish the job good and proper and cement us into the top drawer but such is life. Probably in a minority of one but would still love to see McNally give Culverhouse the type of pay rise he cannot refuse rather than gamble on something new. Whatever happens happens, will miss PL and GH but hey I still miss Dion, Iwan, Hucks, Crookie etc etc
it is Mcnally that is problem at cr he is getting to big for his boots ask him who is bard from carrow rd how.?? who will want away next after GH
stop **** stirring he and bowkett are running the club so that it doesn't go bust. rather that than cave into players and managers demands thanks.
so the fans will accept going back down then, because of a man that will not let PL money go TO KEPT AND BUY reasonable players to compete
i don't think you fully appreciate how deep in the doo-doo norwich city were three years ago. i would happily go down if i knew i had a club to support the following season. by giving in and going against everything the club has done to achieve where it sits today, we'd put that in jeopardy
Yes i do,norwich were selling car parks to stay afloat 3 years ago. But do you not feel they have got to spend to have a chance of staying up next year. The money that they have at this time would not be without PL and his back team. Mc has closed what celtic fans call biscuit tin (not enough cash to spend on good players)
do you not get it? the club have a wage bracket which cannot be lifted any higher or the club will make losses again. we have a similar amount to spend this summer as we did last year. we finished 12th. of course, everyone wishes we had a bit more in the way of wages to throw around but if the club cannot afford to, i don't want them to make any exceptions for anyone, not holt, not lambert, nobody. check out bolton - their average wage is £30k a week. it didn't help them stay up and now they are £110m in debt and on the verge of administration. we are not interested in 'chasing the dream' - it doesn't work for 99% of clubs, and never works for clubs our size. if that doesn't drum it into your skull then i don't know what will
This^ At the end of the day things will sort themselves out. Personally, I can't wait for Lambert to finalise his move now so we can get on with the task of finding his replacement. Exciting times ahead I have no doubt OTBC ... CTI ... IMcWT
ignore him Supers its Saturday, chill and have a beer. We real fans know what a brill job MacNally has done and will continue to do, ignore wums
McNally is, and always has been, as big an asset as PL, and I for one, am very pleased that he and not someone like Doncaster is dealing with all this. but the sooner it´s finished with, the better.
I can honestly say that I would be more worried had we lost McNally rather than Lambert. Could you imagine even thinking that when Doomcaster was CEO
Please dont mention that name its saturday and I am chilling......... god he nearly sank our club, long live Mcnally and sensible management, if that means we lose all our current ball kickers take the money pay off the debt and get some new ones, dont care if we are in the PL or CCC or even L1 as long as we actually have a club! ( would prefer to stay up if poss though lol!)
Hi RBL bor, saga over, "he" has finally made up his mind. Now for the next chapter. Let's hope it is as illustrious as the last one. Talking to my neighbour over the road, a Villa supporter. He was offered a season ticket by a holder who wanted to unload it, he declined it ! Can you imagine the same happening at Canaryland, no way !!! There would be a queue for that ticket. Best of luck PL, providing it not at our expense.
