What's all the worry.....Delboy will see us into a safe mid-table position next season, of that I have no doubt.
Bloody hell, why are we all worrying yet. Players will come that we ain't heard off like Adomah 2 years ago. Just because we have not got anyone yet, don't mean we won't sign anyone.
no worrying here, just saying, the squad at the moment in the last 2 years has struggled, like it would next season, but 4 additions could see it massively improve
We currently have no left back so I'd have thought 2 would be on the shopping list so to speak. Plus a first ball winning center back, a creative midfielder, a goalkeeper to provide competition for Gerken, a pacey striker (assuming Stread, Pitman and Taylor all stay) and maybe a left winger unless he thinks Bryan has got what it takes to play a regular role for us. Lots of work to be done.
but does it fill anyone else with excitement that we're going to sign players who have been realeased by partick thistle, dundee and aberdeen?
Certainly not One thing for sure this is going to show us what the guy is all about, this coming season will tell us which way this club is going. The speculation so far is not to clever. Macmanus, dobie, lita are the only good bits of news coming out of the hat. We need to see some quality arrive,or we are in for a very very tough season.
to be fair pearson, mcmanus, foster, bikey none of them 4 exactly made us beam with excitement, but the jobs they done made every fan want them at our club next season, dear god why slate the signings off before they have even signed!
The facts are that for the past two seasons we have finished well down the table so we cannot expect to attract the best the Championship has to offer or decent loans from the Premier League. As Shiny said DM proved last season he can be very shrewd in the loan market and the transfer market. Irrespective of the overall ambition of the club unless we start getting results next season we won't be signing the players we would all like. I trust DM to bring in a few unknowns like Foster and for them to perform and get us climbing towards mid-table and maybe then we will become a more attractive prospect.
Well said Matt, A few on here say how good Blackpool are but their players barring Kevin Phillips were unknowns who done good under their manager. We are not going to attract lots of players, as Matt said past 2 seasons not set the world alight, we ain't the biggest wage payers in the league or do we spent 5-10 million on players. Yes he might get some from Scotland but I wonder how many of us would not have a young Dalgleish, Hanson, Strachen or Souness who all came from little old Scotland. It's only the beginning of June for ****sake let's at least let the players return from their annual holidays before we all start to panic
Recently the more "unknown players" we have brought in have been very succesful - thinking of Marv and Albie DM knows the Scottish market (better than us) and will identify people that will do well down here - so bound to be one or two Scots (I do like the sound of Paul Dixon the LB from Dundee U) Cov want £1m for Keogh - is he worth that? Thoughts anyone?
Keogh is a very good CB who is strong and reliable. He was the shining light in a very poor Coventry side last year. He would be a good buy for us, and yes a million pounds would be worth it as we need a commanding CB of his stature. There are so many on here worrying about the lack of rumors about us being in for big name players. FFS our club does not need to be chasing the big names. We do not have the money to waste, or the pedigree to attract at this stage. We need stability, common sense and a good foundation to build on. A boring mid-table season with a group of unknown players who develop together sounds like absolute heaven to me. I have never felt so confident as this for a long time. No big noises, no splashing cash, no rumors. In Del I trust.
Bristol City are set to complete a triple signing of Scottish players. Templeton, Swanson and Steven Naismith are all close to agreeing contract terms with the club after initial fees had been accepted. The latter, Naismith may still have other clubs interested in late bids as he is available on a low minimum release clause due to Rangers financial woes. The Templeton deal will involved City winger, Martyn Woolford going to Hearts, as part of the deal.
Hi Shiny - yes I saw this on the rumours website - I think Swanson is talking to Peterborough - would be suprised if Naismith came to us - Templeton maybe
out of the three i'd rather we take templeton, he looks quality, right age and a left winger, if he can bring quality on that side of the field then the wings would be deadly
