Following on from Leazes article on seeing Kevin Nolan tonight, I am interested in seeing if anyone on here has met any of the players in the current squad. Has anyone met a player in the strangest of circumstances? Have any connections to any of the players or even received a 'tweet' from a player? I will start us off. I am yet to meet any of the current squad other than James Perch, whom I met and got an autograph from outside St James. If I could have chosen one player I least wanted to meet in the squad....oh dear. I have also been sent birthday wishes by Danny Simpson on twitter but that is it.
I seen Carroll in tiger tiger, had a chat with him as me mate used to play footy with him, then seen nolan and carroll later that night in the casino. Also seen Ranger with them in the casino a few weeks before.
In recent months, I've stopped for a quick chat with Pardew, shook Nolan and Harp's hand after the 1-1 spurs draw, and saw Saylor on Osborne Road. All seemed pretty sound.
Seen Krul in Chinatown with a load of his mates off to Aspers. Never spoke to him though, only realized it was him after he'd gone past us.
Never met any of the current group. I've met Pedro, Sir Bobby and Philippe Albert though. Managed to insult the Anderlecht first XI as I didn't know who they were...
Seen Nolan and Carroll just before the start of the season, had a bit banter about the up coming Man U game "ahh I'd ****ing love to beat them" in his scouse accent Seen Saylor a while back in town with dog tags round his neck :S Often see Barton either driving past on the way to work or at the Tesco garage up Four Lane ends And my ex got chatted up in there by Ranger waiting to pay for her petrol, she didnt even no who it was until she got back in the car.
I once served Nobby Solano and his mate at Steam in the Bigg Market, don't think it is there anymore, it might be The City Vaults now? Class guy! Shame he didn't have his trumpet with him though
Saw Steve Harper in his car not so long ago, i was walking past SJP and saw Shearer walking with crutches with a load of reporters around him.
On the night of the infamous 4-4, across the chops as I lay in an absolutely disgusting state on a chair in Floritas. He just came to wish me happy birthday the gent.
I met Steven Taylor when he was presenting awards for a Whitley Bay junior team a few years ago. Got some autographs and photos with him. I also got a programme signed by Wayne Routledge after the 4-1 win over Blackpool.
not meant to many of the current bunch, but ive met the likes of shearer bellamy and lauren robert when i used to live around newcastle.
