id never bet against my country in a tournament, but theres worse bets out there then england finishing bottom of our group if you can get decent odds.

Theres nobody else on stand by but Henderson? With Barry and Lampard out we've replace them with another centre half with the 4 we've already got, and a **** midfielder, Mark Noble would be a better stand by than Henderson

i know people will say hes done sod all for england lately etc, but i think he was class for chelsea this season is his deeper role, no more so then the champions league games against barca, he will be a big miss imo, can you still bring people in that werent originally included on standby? phone call to scholes would have been better...

We'll just have to hope Parker and Gerrard don't get injured. It's a big blow losing Lampard though. Especially at the same time as Wilshere and Barry.

Henderson has been out of form all season, no way is he international quality.

Carrick or Scholes would be better.

5/1 on Coral for England to finish bottom in Group D.

I can't understand how Hendersons name could even be mentioned when selecting the England squad

Does anyone else see Phil Jones as vastly overrated? Thought he was dreadful at RB the other night and certainly not good enough in midfield.

Micah Richards Adam Johnson should be in there.

You reckon by putting all these Liverpool players he's compensating for his failure when he was the manager of the bin dippers?

Think we'll have enough to get out the group stage but after that we'll be battered by far superior teams.

I'm having £10 on that. Easy money.

Jones' primary position is centre-half, followed by holding-midfielder and then full-back. Unfortunately he's only even remotely good in the first of those.

I agree about Micah Richards and Adam Johnson though.

    <laugh> @ Jordan Henderson

Scholes might have been asked and said no, but I can't believe Carrick isn't on there. I'm firmly against Hodgson bashing especially this early, but the squad looks like one picked by a 10-year old Liverpool fan who is massively biased towards his favourite players. Johnson, Henderson and Downing are all crap compared to the alternatives.

I haven't checked myself but apparently we're seeded against the group that Germany, Spain and Portugal are in meaning if we get through we'd play one of them. It's not gonna be easy.

Lampard will be a massive loss. I fear the worst and unless I have missed something, I just can`t see Henderson being the answer at this level.

But carrick won't go if he'll be on the bench. Therefore, he's rightly left at home.

The group I said doesn't even exist does it? I think I meant Germany, Holland and Portugal.

Speaking of which, how the **** did they decide to put those 3 in one group, Spain and Italy in one group, us and France in one group and yet there is a group with Russia, Czech Republic, Greece and Poland. What the ****?

I suppose Scott Parker pretty much took his place. I'd still rather have Huddlestone than Henderson though. Huddlestone can hit them hard from the outside of the box... would be a more direct replacement for Lampard.
