"I've had a letter saying that my services won't be retained for next year but it was one of those where the writing was on the wall, I've had too many good times here to leave with any sour taste in my mouth. I've had some great memories. There's been some bad times too but they're not even on my radar. I'll always remember the good times. Now it's on to a new adventure and another chapter in my life." http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-16236626-detail/story.html? Thoroughly nice bloke and I'm sure he'll get a good few offers, good luck to him.
Good luck Garc! Wish you the best in the rest of your career and hope to see you back at the KC one day.
He got a letter because that is the official way of doing things! How could they haul him in when he was probably far away from the club.
They should have had the respect to tell him face to face that his contract was up, especially after the service he's given. Good luck Garc!
Maybe the club did, but gave formal written confirmation. It says the letter "confirmed" it, not "informed" him. Anyway, good luck for the future Garc
He's been a really solid player for us, seems like a smashing bloke and has always maintained a highly professional approach - I'm sorry to see him go but I suppose the writing has been on the wall for quite a while now. I'm sure we all wish him the very best and every success in whatever he moves on to do.
Best wishes Garc - gave some great performances in the championship in our promotion season + earned our first ever PL away point at Blackburn I believe. Solid professional who I think would have been a good squad player for next season
I thought he was one of our best players in the latter part of the season. Hugely versatile, never gave less than 100% and was a decent enough winger with a great delivery. I would have offered him another 12 month deal, but what do I know?
Same. I never agreed with the bashing of him, people made out like he was one of these donkeys who runs around all day but can't kick a ball, and it's totally untrue in his case.
It's a shame that we didn't offer Garc another 12 months at least. He would have been a great and versatile squad member to have in the Championship. A true professional, all the best in your future endeavours Garc
A letter seems appropriate, hes been payed well to play a great sport at a great club. Good luck to Richard Garcia, great bloke and professional.
I agree his versitality and ability deserved another year, unless that is, Garcia was asking for too much. More importantly shouldn't the new manager have a say in who he wants to keep? or is the new manager is already picked and said no?
Rich was expecting to be let go while Nick was manager, so seriously, stop with all the Allam ****e its just petty. I am sorry to see him go, great servant of the club, great player and like OLM said, thoroughly nice bloke too.
I don't see why they've done this, his contract will expire on the 30th June, same as everyone else, you'd think they'd leave it for the new manager to decide Especially with absolutely no backup, we only have one winger now! Unless the new bloke likes Devitt
If he was demanding a big wage, or if he got impatient about no manager to decide on his future it'd be fair enough, but why are the owners deciding on their own to release players? That just isn't right. This is what I'm saying, I'm disappointed that he's leaving but far more disappointed that the owners now think they know enough to start picking which players we keep hold of themselves, why don't they just pick the team? I can't believe there are people who still think this is all normal for a football club, we're a shambles.
