You are speculating on what i would think if RVP used a racist term to insult another person? Quite ironic considering you are Liverpoo fan trying to dress up a clear act of racism. As I said, if you make a racist remark you are a racist. Some of Suarez's black colleagues may still support him, but more fool them. He racially abused another person.
IMO its a bad move for Liverpool; they should have gone for someone with a bit more experience. But only time will tell if Im wrong.
A few points. Arsegun - you can be a racist and work with people of opposite colour to you. Do you think BNP/NF/EDL members work solely with all white colleagues ? Of course not, that doesn't stop them being racist though. I've heard from footballers first hand that Lee Bowyer is/was racist, he got beaten up when he was at Charlton for being racist ! didn't stop him playing with black players though. I actually don't think JT is a racist. I think Suarez is racist but not to the extent of KKK membership. You don't call someone what he called Evra - as many times as he called Evra that name - if you are not more than a little bit racist.
Very strange decision from Liverpool. Although i think he's a good manager, i thought a more mature manager like a Capelo would have been more suitable. The target i thought for them would be top 4? Roger's has no experience of top 4....
Looks like Sigurdson will be following Rodgers there...doing nothing to dispel the "Scouse thieves" stereotyping In all seriousness though that's quite annoying, both for Swansea and the rest of us as he's a talented player.
You are only furthering your own lack of insight. Of course you are entitled to your own beliefs, however simplistic, but please refrain from such sensationalism. Yes, I was speculating, to highlight the probable flexibility of a rival's position on the Suarez 'case'. You are assuming that the decision of the FA was correct, that they were right to base it on Evra's opinion, a decision a court would not hold, that Suarez is a racist and that his black friends (and family, which you gloss over) are 'fools'. Lots of assumptions there. Oh, and a tip: If you want a sensible discussion, don't use childish insults like 'Liverpoo' (I doubt that was a typo). Anyway, this is about Rodgers, have you an opinion on him?
Seriously? You're still going on about this? Liverpool under Dagleish damaged their reputation so badly over this (some would say irreparably) and still you won't let it lie. Suarez used a racist term. He admitted it. He got punished for it. Patrice Evar being a c*ck-head is neither here nor there. Why Liverpool fans can't accept Suarez was wrong and move on is beyond me.
Exactly !! Liverpool fans are a joke. Suarez admitted to saying what he said, what is the argument therefore ?
What, he admitted to being a racist? Or he admitted to saying something that some English people claim makes him a racist?
unfortunately, u live by the rules of the country u inhabit, and in that country (england) that term is racist. so yes, it does make him a racist
Add to that the fact that he was disproved, while using the word in normal conversation in South America is not offensive, using it in anger is He knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he used the word 10 times !!
Yeah but we don't know if JT actually said what is claimed though - he may very well have simply said he didn't say those words - caught on camera and out of context it may look like he did. I certainly think Suarez is a racist, don't think Terry is though. Both are cheating lying scum though.
1. A new manager usually brings an uplift in results but he will have time to settle in and develop his system. But I am with Piskie the players he has are not good enough to do much with. But he is a better choice than Dalglish. 2. Suarez for me in is not racist based on one racist remark (I don't know him so he might be or not) but one comment doesn't make you a racist and it is impossible and irreversible to put that label on some one based on what we know. Did he say something racist yes - should he be punished - yes - Is he definitely a racist - impossible to tell. 3. Dalglish and Liverpool should have come out and said He said something stupid he got punished lets move on. The irrational support they gave him was stupid - he admitted saying it ffs just get on with it 4. The best example I can give is in a moment of anger have you ever said something you regretted or could be deemed prejudiced in the heat of the moment either to stranger or a loved one? Does that mean you should be labelled with the brush of a misogynist/racist/homophobe/xenophobe/religionist(what would you put for this?) for the rest of your life. For example me and my group of friends will make gay/brown/black/white/religious/disability jokes etc ( some are in our group some aren't) and none of us give a toss. But if someone hears us they can easily be offended does that mean i should be a racist for the rest of my life. I know jokes and insults are different in context but one comment doesn't make a person
Vela - normally I would agree with your point 4 - I am sure we are all guilty of using a racist term, I know I have. However, Suarez didn't use the word once or even twice, he used it 10 times during the match - that to me makes it different. To have that level of fixation with that word, to use it 10 times .... that betrays an underlying dislike of those people .. in my opinion
I don't know why Anton Ferdinand would have been so adamant that he was called a black **** if he wasn't really ??? He would look like a idiot if for pressing with it if he wasn't. The CPS obviously think there's enough evidence to prosecute Terry too. I don't see why that's any different to Suarez. JT and Suarez play and train alongside Africans every week, so I doubt he's an out and out in your face racist, but They both just come across a scumbags really.
Now, my understanding is that Ferdinand didn't hear anything said, he was told that something was said to him. Maybe he confronted Terry who responded with what I think got him in bother being caught on film saying I didn't call you a black so and so
Dalglish ended up looking like an old figurehead wheeled out in a time of crisis at Liverpool, (which is exactly what he was) but he brought nothing fresh to Liverpool, even with a ton of cash to back him. It was a sad tenure really. I think Rogers is a massive gamble for them. They have to give him 2-3 years at least, they can't go on booting managers out. They'll end up like Chelsea, but without the success. For a big club like Liverpool, their standing is well below where they should be.
