SSN say that 3 teams after Johnston, us, Spurs and Newcastle. Do you see the outcome that I do, what a pisser that would be.

Johnson seen driving north, coming to the Sunderland turn off and drives on, further north.

What will be will be Syd.

Johnston will have to make that decision for himself. One thing I do know is in Martin, we have a fantastic manager and a hugely charismatic personality. If he can't sell the club to AJ, then no one can.

    We shall soon see.

As a club, this will be the 3rd year in a row we've wanted him. If that doesn't tell him something nowt ever will.

If he is our signature signing this summer I'd be very happy. Johnston & Fletcher in early would be terrific business imo.

Do the mags have a similar wage system to us?
I think our cap is £40,000 but if any of you out there know better....
Chiek & Chappaz --do you know your wage cap?
Will the mags have a similar problem to us when AJ's wages are discussed?

SUNDERLAND are hoping to engineer a loan deal for Manchester City starlet John Guidetti after scouting the striker extensively in the second half of last season.

Guidetti, who only turned 20 in April, spent last season on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord and rapidly established himself as one of the hottest properties in the European game.

He netted 20 goals in the Eredivisie, a tally that included three separate hat-tricks and resulted in him finishing the campaign as the fifth-highest goalscorer in Dutch football.

He has subsequently returned to Manchester City, but given the depth of attacking talent at Roberto Mancini's disposal, is unlikely to command a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium next season.

City officials tied him down to a three-year deal last summer, and will be extremely reluctant to sell him on during the current transfer window.

However, another loan deal would potentially be of interest, and Sunderland are hoping to muscle their way to the front of a lengthening queue.

The Black Cats sent a senior scouting delegation to a number of Feyenoord's matches last season, and O'Neill visited Holland personally to run the rule over Guidetti's abilities.

He is understood to have been impressed by what he saw, and is hoping to persuade the Manchester City hierarchy to allow the Swedish youngster to remain in the Premier League.

Guidetti, who grew up in Kenya where his father was a teacher, made his full international debut for Sweden in February, but will not be involved in Euro 2012 after sustaining an infection following a thigh injury.

As a result, his future could be sorted out prior to the start of pre-season training, although Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel recently revealed that Manchester City are still to decide what to do with arguably their most talented youngster.

Feyenoord are desperate to sign Guidetti for a second successive season, but Sunderland are privately hoping the forward pushes for an opportunity to prove himself in England, having made just five appearances for Burnley in a loan spell in 2010.

"I can't say more than I already have done," said van Geel. "Of course we want to keep John at Feyenoord for longer, but they (Manchester City) haven't made a decision about his future yet."

    Who's this Johnston lad?

Adam Johnson on the other hand would be a terrific bit of business for you lads. Apparently Man United are interested now as well. I hope we have a sell on fee agreed with City.

If he leaves City I cant see him going to United because he would face the same problem when you look at who they have.

Where would he fit in with the mags? Their late good form was down to the front three of Ben Arfa, Cisse, and Ba, they'd probably have to sell one of them to make room for Johnson, can't see him being happy with warming the bench for them.

Haha. I hope that's the case.

Hopefully the following season we can look forward to a Tees-Wear derby in the Premiership.

Obviously no one KNOWS for sure, but our wage cap is pretty universally accepted to be 50k with one exception made for the club captain. I think Johnson knows he will be taking a wage cut wherever he goes, but I would hope he'd be happy to do that to get his England career back on track.

Ba please. I think he thrives being the main man and now with Cisse here he has to take a bit of a back seat. If our long term formation is 4-3-3, I would prefer a proper left winger, Adam Johnson would be perfect.

Also, contrary to popular belief, he is actually a toon supporter, so with all due respect, if it comes down to a choice between us and yous, I think he'll pick us. Even Spurs have no Champs League, so imo we are front runners as it stands.

    That's true

If it was all about money Bill he would stay put.

I think it will be between us and Newcastle because that gives him best chance of regular first team football and I don't think money will come into it, we will both offer the same.

He supported Newcastle and all his family support Sunderland so that, IMO will cancel out the I support thing.

Newcastle offer more with the Europa League but it could come down to who sells the best deal, Pards or MON and despite all our rose tinted glasses I honestly don't know who it will be.
