Well here we are once again !! Manager gone and a pre-season of doubt, speculation, hope and fear !! the players must be gutted by this act of dis-loyalty by Brenden Rodgers, he has taken a major u-turn in just 2 weeks and gone from hero to zero in the eyes of supporters.

But lets look at things more closely, if we had our eyes open we would have seen a great many indicators !

Brendens love "of such a beautiful part of the world" how many times did he used to say this ?? of course he is very correct about this it is very beautiful here, why he needed to reinforce that every week i dont know, maybe it was to let the fans know he was "loving the area" and wasnt looking for the fast train (un electrified of course) out of here .

Family is very important says Brenden, he did go through a terrible time in his life while here with his parents being sick, our club gave him every support and understanding they could and that was great to see, he made a special point of saying that the club were first class with him and he will never forget the support from them and the local community when he was going through his difficult time. we were there as a club when needed,we showed great loyalty when it mattered. He wanted to repay that loyalty to us.

Brenden loves the media..loves it!! there were however a few strange situations there, when asked if he was ready to manage a big club brendens reply was swift "Im ready now" "ive worked with big players it s not something that intimidates me" fair enough i thought,in a few years he will need that attitude !

"Reading FC taught me a lesson" said rodgers" maybe i jumped too soon in my career and paid the price because of that, i couldnt get even get an interview"well lucky for him he met SCFC not only did they have the job they also had the team! something that he could not get going up in Reading and where is inability to mould the team cost him his job, from there he dropped into the scrap heap considered not good enough to be a manager.
Intresting then, when given his new job at SCFC he couldnt wait to prove his loyalty 100% and he carried his failiure around with him to remind him of days gone by. But that failiure left him last season and it was replaced by something else.

.....The Brenden Rodgers premier league Roadshow !! hard luck stories were replaced by spellbinding media interviews where rodgers talked about how British guys were as good as anything in europe and how he extracted the best out of our own with hard work and great coaching!! now, i thought to myself we are onto a winner here!! a guy that makes Barca type footballers out of lower league players !! well, the media loved him and he loved the media, it was truely love at first sight and i saw a twinkle in Brendens eye id never seen before "thats him paying back his loyalty" i thought to myself.

Spurs came to town and a star was Born. Brenden Rodgers !! next thing we knew Harry was Engerlund bound and there was a job going spare, the darling of the media suddenly dissapeared from view...and from interview!! very strange indeed, now is the perfect time to tell the world that Swansea is the job,the project is big,the area Beautiful ..but nothing was said, hmmm.

Of course the project big,the area beautiful was for our ears only! when it came to serious buisness and Spurs then he was as quiet as a church mouse during sunday service. Why did he fail to quash the rumours ? ah, thats it! because there were no rumours to quash !! silly me,thats why Brenden went quiet because there was no need to say anything, the view from worms head was far better than the London eye !!

Liverpool, not intrested week 1
Liverpool, intrested week 2
Liverpool, signed week 3

A very strange few weeks and even more strange things said, it leads me to beleive he agreed to take the job a few weeks ago and the rest was just faff to keep the papers and fans away, probably bought him enought time to get the removal truck in undercover of darkness and ship everything out quietly.Did we buy into Brenden?? the honest answer is NO, it was staring us in the face from the begining,we just didnt want to admit we had another ruthless charector on our hands, why wernt we bothered by this? because we know they are ALL ruthless people, Martinez taught us this and it never really left us!
its their job,its the nature of the beast!! its the Football foodchain and we are still small fry compared to others.

who would have thought that the big project and wonderful area with fantastic people and great professionals deserved such an undignified end?

Truth is, it isnt the end its just the begining!! we are rich to the tune of over a £100m pounds and the future of SCFC is now looking the best in a Hundred years, the money will fund many things to help the club grow stronger and stronger we are ahead of financial fair play,we have a style of play ingrained on the club,we are loved by all !!

Brenden Rodgers- did ok, created no legacy .

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, THE FUTURE IS BLACK AND WHITE stid.

Brendan knows how to coach, he knows how to man-manage and he knows how to "work the press".

Should get yourself off to Asda pal, seems that pie may have turned sour.

You had a manager who took you up to the premiership, had your team playing great football to watch and comfortably kept you in the premiership.

Even though Liverpool are a mess at the minute, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and you cannot expect your manager to turn that opportunity down, I would find it hard to believe our manager would even turn them down.

Well I'm so confident of him not performing at Liverpool, when he is eventually appointed I'm going to put 50 notes on him not lasting a season, and I don't chuck money money away easily.

Think you miss the point mate, Im over Rodgers already! there was a big difference when Martinez left but rodgers going is more like a Bee sting compared to Martinez shark bite !!

There is alot you dont know about our club, the style of football happens whoever the manager is, therefore no major change in personell, all our boys apart from 1 are tied to long term deals, if somebody goes then clubs got to pay top prices or the player stays. Our club is so well run at board level that every fan is just not worried about the next appointment, whoever they choose gets 100% backing, who took a punt on Martinez and Rodgers?? Swansea! who is interviewed for one of the top jobs in football Martinez and Rodgers!!

That how well we select our guys, not forgetting Sousa who just won the league in Hungary! the point of my article was that deep down we knew the day would come, its horrible when it does arrive but its no great shock to any of us if you've seen rodgers persona change under the prem media spotlight, of course our friends from Watford gave us the low down on him and they were proved to be 100% correct.

Of course in Football these days no job is for life, i heard Brenden rodgers say that a few weeks ago actually .. <laugh>

over him onto the next chapter now fellas <ok>

I have to admit, though I doubt you'll be surprised, but he wasn't my choice for manager, and while he did have the sense to leave well alone with regards to our passing game, he'll not be missed by me, matter of fact, I don't even have the same disappointment as when Martinez left, I think it's true to say he's some what of an impostor, and will get found out, in all good time. We were warned by the Watford boys, and that put me off him from the start, plus he was well down the pecking order of managers at the time.

My 'Brenda the tea lady' article I put up on the old BBC 606, though done in tongue in cheek, was a reflection at the time of how disappointed I was in Rodgers coming to the Liberty, and some jacks didn't like it, make no apologise for it either, but in fairness to him, he didn't mess with our developed style, though I doubt very much he'd know how, and he did sign some good players, though not rocket science, but as the dust settles, and we see how things shaped, and developed, as you've outlined in your post above Norway, and it's starting to look not that much dissimilar to the Martinez want away.

One thing we as fans at Swansea city must surely realise by now, is that the only loyalty to be had in this modern game, comes from the supporters, chairman and board of our great club, yes Swansea City is a great club, and anyone who doesn't want to be here, can go, we only want people, who will understand the uniqueness of our club, and respect that, and Rodgers did not. We need now to channel all our frustrations, anger and energy in getting someone better than Rodgers, he was not the best we've had, no the worst, but he's history now, a new era starts.

What a load of tripe. Like a bunch of jilted lovers. Numpties like Phill saying, "Well I never liked him anyway" - what a berk.

People who are successful move on. It happens. I used to work somewhere that was small. We took people on. If they were good and became successful they were inevitably poached by someone bigger. That's the way it is. If we lure Gus Poyet away from Brighton will any of you whingers shed a tear over their fans? Probably not.

We may not like it but I sometimes think Swans fans are a rather small minded bunch. I posted this earlier so sorry for the repetition:

My first post on this.

Rodgers had the chance to make himself great by staying with us. In a year's time he'll be out. Probably before. A bad move for Liverpool and an even bigger one for him imo.

That said, we owe Rodgers a great deal for making some influential signings that were pivotal to getting us promoted (Sinclair mainly) and for effectively delivering the dream. However, those of us who follow the Swans know that the foundations were laid by at least three or four managers before Rodgers even though he was the guy who successfully brought it all together.

Whilst I can't quite bring myself to wish him success (he is after all going to a rival) I think that those turning on him forget that without him it's unlikely we would have made the Prem. Sinclair came because of him. Take away Sinclair's goals and where would we have been? Not promoted, that's where.

So respect, Mr Rodgers, but in 6 months time when you feel those rather ruthless American owners breathing down your neck you'll just be another chapter in our history and we would have moved on with another young and hungry manager and doing great things again in the Prem.

Oh, and Gus Poyet for me.

Listening to Talksport on the way home this afternoon waiting for news, they kept coming back to the fact that they thought BR had inherited a good footballing side in the first place. Something that was started during the Jackett, Martinez and Sousa era's. All systems tinkered with, improved upon and I feel that Swansea has improved year on year.

What's important is the club carries on with it's same philosophy on the way it plays the game – our fans know the difference between ‘hoofball’ and playing the game the way it should be played. It's not called football for nothing.

I have great belief in the Director's and in the fans to continue our journey. It wasn't that long ago that we were at the other end of the leagues, so Swansea fans have seen it all in the last ten years and should savour every minute of these days, as I truly believe they are the best we've ever had, and I've been watching them since the 60's.

My other favourite club has always been Barcelona. Their motto translates as ‘more than a club’. Perhaps we should have one – More than a Manager.

Brendan has made his decision and I can't blame him for wanting to try his hand. I don't feel anything like as bad as I did when RM left. I felt he left us high and dry just to fulfill his own ambitions and we could have easily sunk back into an average side. Instead, two years later, it has been the players who have got us where we are, and BR should be thanked for his work while he was here.

He is now history, but the club remains. We will always be here, supporting through thick and thin, victory or losing... but this is our club and I hope no-one will ever take that away from us.

Im getting over Brenden quicker than a one night stand from Barons !! Martinez was the heartbreaker and i think Brenden always knew he would never get the true plaudits and rightly so !

Mabon yes, and I don't think we are alone on that, but he did take a lot in no doubt, I refrained this season on many occasions from criticism of his game plans and strategy due to upsetting the sensitive ones on here, but I noticed they have disappeared now Saint Rodgers has lost his halo!......................... <cheers>

I agree with what you say there, my article ,if you bothered to read it just makes the point that the seeds were planted a while back and that it was just a question of when and who to with Brenden.
He did good things here, and he was always going to leave, the fact im not that bothered about him now says alot, thrashing it out on the message boards has been good therapy and im getting exicted about the new guy.

Of all the 100's of posts ive read today, yours stands out as being the only one that is aggresive in its content, managers change KJ doesny ...<laugh>

Don't think he promised us anything like Martinez, he was straight that he would move if a big club came in for him, if he did it a fortnight ago I would respect him a whole lot more! I would still think he's making a mistake but at least we would have been further down the line looking for a new manager.
