I know we purposefully steer clear of other Club's business but having some Swansea connections and remembering how I felt 2 years ago, just had to get this one off my chest. There's no doubt that Brendan Rogers has done well this last season but that's now 4 clubs in 4 years - it somehow doesn't feel the right move for either party.

It also leaves a heck of a lot of clubs now scrabbling around for replacement managers. Isn't it pleasant to have stability and a smiling Mr Jol ?

I feel worst for Swansea, they'll find next season even more difficult with a new manager.

I think both Rodgers and Liverpool would have benefited from this deal being next summer instead of this one. Second season syndrome could easily have happened to Swansea this year with or without Rodgers. I feel Liverpool have acted rashly in putting the fortunes of their club in a man who has achieved one successful season of PL football. He isn't ready for a job of this size and it could come back to bite him.

Will this put the Sigurdsson deal in jeopardy?

Could do since we definitely had a bid in. Also how about a raid on Sinclair, Graham, Britton ... ?? Although I guess we'd just be joining the queue.

How ironic that Swansea have just changed their all White strip to all Red. FFC take heed !!!

What an awful time for the Swans fans - they'll need more than Hymns and Arias next season.

We've not changed our kit to all red next season, we've got a centenary away kit thats a red shirt. Gutted Bucks gone, but that's just modern football for you, our board have made some great appointments over the years, usually resulting in them leaving for 'better' pastures after a couple of seasons. Hopefully the board will pull it out the bag again, although it's going to be a lot more difficult in the Prem. Can't see Glyfi coming on board now to be honest.
Brendans a great manager, but think he has jumped to quickly. Time will tell.
Good luck to you guys for next season!

I think he will struggle to make an initial impact. In order to attract a higher calibre of player they will bring in a well known Director of Football and so the Liverpool sideshow will resume once more.

He will be Head Coach, not Manager by Ferguson's definition.

Can Rodgers in one season turn Liverpool into a top 4 club.
His big problem is Liverpool can no longer compete in the transfer market
with the top clubs. Are the Owners of LFC willing to back him with the cash,
or are they looking to at him to turn them into the top 4 club with his philosophy
of passing football while not spending big. If so then it will take him at least 2 years
to turn it round to even get back to 4th.
Will the owners and fans have the patience.

I think it's a big gamble for both parties. Given that Liverpool have faired poorly in the last three seasons under managers with the experience and track record of Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish, to say they're taking a punt on Brendan Rogers is an understatement and a half. I can't see him delivering a top four finish in one season, although if they stick with him for the long haul it could prove to be an inspired appointment. It is also refreshing to see a promising young British manager getting a big job rather than the owners automatically assuming that they need a big name from Europe. I wonder what Mark Hughes thinks of the appointment :)

Very nice not to see Fulham part of the managerial merry-go-round this season - I hope!

I've heard a couple of Liverpool fans saying 'we probably won't win anything but at least we will be playing good football'. That just shows for me how far the club has fallen and is Rodgers the man to take them back to where they were? Not for me.

I just wonder about some of the current players. Carroll isn't exactly his type of player, or at least one that plays his style of football and I can see Vorm coming in for Pepe who was average at best this season. Skrtel is another who doesn't fit the typical Rogers style of play. Be interesting to see how Liverpool shape up next season and how many games they will have to lose before the chants of "Dalgleish" starts coming down from the Kop.

Hate to say it, but I can see Dembele as a Rogers type of player.
