Nah, can't see out players responding as well to the tough-but fair attitude he has. Think they'd want to continue with a caring type like Bobby & Brenda were...
Guys the next manager should be Ian hollaway !! perfect fit for swanselona football as everything he learnt about it waqs modeled from us !! great with the media as well
Di canio has just signed a 2 year extension with Swindon. - He'd have been a good shout, Swindon are playing quality football. Really feel for you guys. The summer can be such a sh*t time with all the vultures. Every season we hear the same old stuff over and over again. I hope you guys get the right man. Your style of football last season was top drawer
Malky Mackay hell of a good manager, done really well at cardiff and likes to play footy the right way...
Di Matteo; Holloway; Hughton; Martinez; Guardiola in any order of preference is my wish list. But, knowing Jenkins, some unknown, possibly Spanish, young up and coming manager, that none of us have heard of, but will have a name that can be ridiculed by everyone before he has even started and hailed as a hero when the season has finished.......oh yes and slated for being a traitor for leaving for a bigger club when we finish 8th next year. I have faith that Jenkins will pull another rabbit out of the hat
We do NOT need sentimental choices such as Monk, Pascoe or Curt. We DO need a top class professional who knows what he is doing. If a young gun is to be considered then he has to be absolutely and totally outstanding - I don't see one out there who is up to it. We are PL now facing quality teams who will be fighting tooth and nail to stay in it for the big bucks. Let's not forget that a "big name" coach will repay his cost by enticing quality players to us who otherwise might not come. If we even hint of taking the budget/chancy option we can forget about any really decent players joining us. As I said, we are Premier League now, so let's start acting like it.
Seen on Twitter earlier that Jenkins has "prepared reports on managers in La Liga in case of Rodgers leaving" haven't got a clue how true it is, but it wouldn't surprise me!
Ivor ... spot on. . It makes for a shorter list and no doubt in the next few days serious candidates will have their agents sounding us out.
Chris Coleman and John Toshack - lets create a Jack Dynasty. I've had enough of these "plastic managers"
How about Raymond Verheijen....has worked with Barca, Man City, Chelsea, Zenith, Holland, Russia and Wales. Could be worth a look?
Off the wall thought, but what about a player coming towards the end of his playing days who has achieved almost everything - Frank Lampard?
