I'm not laughing at that story because it wouldn't surprise me at all. We have a history of signing hotheads like Barton.

    I hope so.

    Todays list:

    Louis Saha
    Yakubu

Feed the Yak and he will get fat.

Don't fancy either of them, the Dutch guy, Bas Dost, from earlier in the week looks good, maybe a bit too good to come to us

No truth in the Saha, Seedorf rumours.
We have put bids in for Bas Dost, Zaha and Richardson so far.

    Latest news:

Green is gone, turned down our latest offer.
Yakubu to sign in a week or so.
We have contacted Dirk Kuyt's agent.
Only 25% chance of signing Bas Dost.

Zaha, Ban Dost and Kuyt would be good, not sure about Richardson, although we do need some wingers, but Yakubu has been pants for a while now, I'd rather see us buy Kevin Davis, getting on a bit but pace was never his game.

Yakubu got 17 league goals this past season, i'd say he's pretty good value for 1m.

I've worked for a few crooks in my, time but none of them as bad as Hearn, 'gangster' would suit him better.

    That made me laugh

On transfers topic, I think Richardson and Linda would be a solid LB pair, Demel scares the sh*t out of me and without Faubert I think we could do with another RB (Clyne, Brayford or Trippier would suit me). Yakuba would be a good deal for 1M and hopefully can give Cole competition upfront. I'm Unsure about Zaha everyone talks about him as if hes the next big thing but all the times I've seen him he's been average at best.
With Brendan Rodgers apparently going to Liverpool do you think we could tempt any Swansea players away?
    (Vorm to replace Green
    Sinclair instead of Zaha
Caulker to give Reid and Tomkins competition)
As for Bas Dost I doubt we would get him anyway, G and S allways talk as if they are signing a world class player each window but allways end up signing players for not alot of cash or free agents, that said I would be very happy if we got him.
I'd like us to try and get NZonzi or raid Birmingham if they go into meltdown (Redmond, Mutch, Butland...)
Stay away from Rhodes, Jaaskelainen, Saha, J. Cole, Kuyt, Yossi, Barton, Seedorf and any other 30+ year old who would be looking for a final pay day!

I'd take Jussi and Kuyt out of your list of 'don't touch' but I'd agree with the rest.

Jussi is 39 (I think ?!) and couldn't even be N°1 keeper for a relegated side who had the 2nd Worst Goal difference in the league and Kuyt would want a huge salary witch would be better invested elsewhere.

    Saints fan in peace.
I know that a large portion of the media reports are pure guesswork, but if Greene is demanding the kind of pay packet
that,s being reported I hope WHU tell him to sling his hook. Obviously a competent keeper, but he ain,t no world beater
& not in the same league as the current England No 1.
    Your thoughts?

Green is a good keeper and has served us well but imo he is not worth the 50 000 a week he wants. He will probably be a QPR player next season as they don't have a problem paying that kind of money on these kind of player.

I think he is worth 50k a week, that's £10.5 million all-in, give or take, over a 5 year period, no transfer fee, no signing on fee. How much will a decent keeper cost?

Yeah we allways claim to be signing a massive star so that we fans (being stupid) think our owners are being ambitious. They allways went on about how they were trying to sign tevez or torres but it never happens.
