What a load of bollocks, how is it Leicester a mid-table team are favourites? If Bolton, Wolves and Blackburn don't lose too many players they will be the top 3, Blackpool must fancy being in the top 6 along with Birmingham and Cardiff. Apart from that everyone else would be mid/bottom half clubs with Middlesborough leading the top half and Millwall holding up the bottom.

The odds are neveright. only a couple of seasons ago Borough were favourite and we were 2nd favourite and we both finished bottom end of the table.
At this stage before players are bought and sold I dont know who will be up there.

I still like the look of Blackpool if they can keep players like Phillips and Ince but half their team are already in the later stages of their careers and are now another year older. Cant see Bolton going up.

I would say that Wolves would be my team at the moment to go up. Players like Knightly and Ebanks Blake were outstanding at this level last time so have enough to score goals just comes down to how the management of the team goes.

    Complete nonsense by and large

How can Huddersfield possibly be 33/1 ? They should be one of the favourites to go straight back down.

'How can Huddersfield possibly be 33/1 ? They should be one of the favourites to go straight back down'

Because time after time teams promoted do well in their 1st year after promotion.

It may well be 'Complete nonsense by and large' - but do you know a poor bookmaker ?

The list below does not give good reading.

Only posh and Barnsly are below us for the drop.

Leicester City have been installed the early title favourites (7/1) for the 2012/13 npower Championship, according to the club's official betting partner Coral.
Derek McInnes' City are rank outsiders, priced at 66/1, with only Barnsley and Peterborough United rated below them.
Relegated Bolton Wanderers are second favourites at 15/2, with Birmingham City (9/1) and Wolves (10/1) close behind.

    7/1 - Leicester City15/2 - Bolton Wandeerers9/1 - Birmingham City10/1 - Wolves12/1 - Blackpool, Leeds United14/1 - Blackburn Rovers, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City16/1 - Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough20/1 - Ipswich own, Sheffield Wednesday25/1 - Hull City28/1 - Nottingham Forest33/1 - Burnley, Derby County, Huddersfield Town40/1 - Millwall50/1 - Watford66/1 - Bristol City, Crystal Palace100/1 - Barnsley, Peterborough United

Sad to say that I think our position in those rankings look fairly accurate to me. I think we will do well to beat the drop. It will be such a tough tough league next season.

I guess in this market it's about looking for value.
You need to back someone with money - and then they need to spend it wisely
Value looks to be Wolves and Blackburn, both of whom will have money to spend
Can't believe Charlton, Sheff W and Huddersfield are as short as they are - perhaps promoted teams have optimistic fans who will back them, hence the price?

So according to the odds Leeds are more than twice as likely to go up compared to a team like Forest who didnt have a great season last year but if they can keep Dexter Blackstock fit I think they will finish top Half and above Leeds.

As for Huddersfield, most of their goals last year were scored by Rhodes who will not be playing for them this season so it will come down to the money they will get from his sale how they use that.

On William Hill at the moment. We are now 80/1 (3rd worse) with Leicester Favourite at 6/1.

still dont think you can say who will do well until the season starts and clubs have brought in new players for the start of the season. It will only take one big signing and our odds will change.

I think Charlton will actually do ok. They are a very good home team and will get points away from home too.

I don't believe any of the the 3 promoted teams will be anywhere near the playoffs though.

I've seen Sheff Wed and Huddersfield a few times on telly over the course of the seaon just finished and neither impressed me at all.

If either of these 2 clubs have significant money to spend before the new season starts then they may do ok, but if not I can see them both struggling badly. These are the sort of teams we'll need to be looking to get 6 points from next season, along with Barnsley, Peterborough and co to ensure we don't have the same scrap to avoid the drop again like we've just endured.

I always thought that he odds were set by where the money is going? If more money on Leicester then their odds come down. So if that's true these odds could change soon anyway.
If I'm wrong I'm sorry but know nothing about betting.

But in reality we finished a point above the last safe place, who were saved by Portsmouth. So technically a point above relegation should make us one of the teams to be relegated in bookies eyes.

But as I said I know nothing about gambling, apart from I'm guaranteed to pick the three legged donkey in the race.

Massive, you forget that Leicester will be getting the cheque book out again this summer.

As for us struggling, not going to happen...
