I had a strange idea that some of our contributors had a grain of brain between their ears. Oh dear how wrong I was.
To compare The Queen to Mugabe or Osama bin liner is outrageous.
The Queen has dedicated herself to the service of this country tirelessly and is above criticism.

The amount of money the Queen/royal family brings into this country due to tourism is significantly more than the taxpayers spends to keep the monarchy running.

The Queen has a personal fortune of £1.9 billion. The crown also take the income from the Duchy of Lancaster, to the tune of £20m per year and Prince Charles leeches £16.5m out of Cornwall each year from the Duchy there. This money would otherwise go to the state.
On top of that the Queen is paid £7.9m per year by the state to do her job. £350,000 of that goes to her husband for his salary to do his essential role of telling racist jokes and generally making England look like a European backwater.
The state also 'tops up' the Queen's salary by £30m per year in 'gift aid' for things like maintenance on her privately owned houses, like Sandringham and Balmoral. Then there is the maintenance and servicing of the state owned homes, Buck palace, St James, Windor castle etc - and on top of that the state also spends around £100m per year on security and policing.
Taken as a whole, the resources spent on maintaining Liz and her family totally eclipse the sums spent on any other European head of state.
It would be interesting to see how much money they generate per year from Tourism.
But either way, I'm certain that they can afford to pay for their own existence instead of leeching off of our crippled economy
