Could you ever leave the Toon?

I'm talking if things go absolutely tits up...

We get relegated and do a leeds x2 and end up in the conference or something.

Would you stop supporting the toon?

I'd probably try to leave, I'd try to give it up, because the depression and anger would make me feel like ****... but I could never give up on the lads, no matter what. I've only been a season ticket holder for 3 seasons now, but as much as I'd try, even if the Toon were in the conference or below, I'd still follow them.

I'm addicted to Newcastle.

I said it. I love the toon, and sometimes I shed tears for it.

It means as much to me as my own family. It's great in a way.

You can become addicted to it, but it never asks for anything other than your love for it. You don't even have to go to matches ffs. Once the Toon is in your heart, it never leaves.

Sometimes I wish I could just not care about young overpaid bumsqueeks playing football and do something that improves my life in some way like paint a fence on saturday, however it's a disease and it's terminal. I haven't smoked anything and it's true what I'm saying and the same applies to infinity.

 

I'm 52. I started going week in week out in 1972. I have seen us win the Texaco cup, the Anglo Italian cup and the Intertoto cup. I queued outside the ground overnight several times in the 1970's only to see my heart broken. I have seen many a poor player grace our shirt. I have shed blood and tears over Newcastle. I have fallen out with loved ones over attending matches. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds following NUFC. I have changed wives and partners during that time, never Newcastle.

Newcastle United is in my blood. I wouldn't swap a minute.
