after feeling good about Siggy i now feel pretty gutted about this. hope it leads to nothing but im already wondering if Brendan goes can we keep on reinventing ourselves?
4 million & the team carrying on sounds good to me if he doesn't stay . I believe the team ethic & closeness , within itself , makes any new managers' job fairly straight forward . My biggest & only concern really is what this might do to the Sig nature of things !
If it's true that Rodgers is having talks with Liverpool, then I think he is as good as gone. I doubt Sig will sign unless Rodgers stays, so everything will start to unravel. Will Caulker come back if Rodgers leaves? Rodgers seems to be a major reason why many players want to play for Swansea, so it will be difficult building for next season if he leaves. Not just because he's left but because we'll have a few weeks of uncertainty while we try to find a new manager. Have the club confirmed that he has been allowed to talk to Liverpool? If he leaves then lets hope Swansea get a good replacement manager. But Rodgers will be a hard act to follow. Just checked skybet and they still have Martinez at 8/13, but Rodgers is now 5/4 and Jurgen Klopp 3/1. They seem to be the only three in the race. But Martinez has called a press conference at Wigan, so what does that mean? Surely it can't be to say he's got the job. Sounds like Martinez has turned it down and Rodgers now knows he's no. 1 choice so is going for it. It doesn't look good. But I hope this is all paper talk.
What will be ,will be. There's no point in getting stressed out over something we,as supporters, have no control over. The situation is grinding inexorably to a conclusion, and we will know the outcome soon enough. The Club will survive if Rodgers leaves, let there be NO doubt about that.
I can't see Brendan wanting to report to a Director of Football as Sky are reporting. Martinez want's full control over football activities, transfers etc. You would think Brendan would want the same.
Seems the press have decided that as he is in America he must be talking to Liverpool although they seem to forget the Swansea elements in the Welsh team. And as there are no qoutes from anyone of importance ..pinch of salt time
The report specifically says that his trip to the USA was nothing to do with the manager's job, so not sure where you got that from. But like you say, there are no quotes from Liverpool, Swansea or Brendan. But the article seems to suggest that talks have already been arranged, which would seem a bit odd. Things will become a bit clearer what we hear what Martinez has to say tomorrow. And I wonder if Swansea City or Brendan will make a comment today. I still have a feeling he'll leave because he has always said he'll leave for a bigger club. But I hope he stays a couple more seasons at least. I wonder what Sig thinks of all this. Massive efforts to get hom and then he wakes up to a story saying the manager may leave. On the other hand, maybe Brendan agreed to stay if he got Sig and the newspapers are just making up crap.
Just saying its common knowledge that he booked the trip a while ago. When Liverpool still had a manager ..and I still think (hope) the press are just speculating
Still look on the bright side ..we must be doing something right.no other Welsh club is being pestered by a premiership team for their gaffer
I suppose we should be falttered. Imagine if no-one wanted any of our players or our manager. At least it makes the summer more interesting!
