Bit harsh. It will be tough for him though...will have to get fitter and ready to feed on scraps with Lambert as a supplier.
I'm not sure if it was you I had a go at before but PLEASE do not use that smiley its so ****ing condescending!
So if we're in the bottom 6 come Christmas will you join the Numpty brigade and be calling for Adkins to go?
No that's RLGB that we moan at for the condescending smiley! I'll stop that. SaintsFanAlex: However Sharp had lost weight and it was clear. Nigel has a full pre-season with him now too, as he did when Lambert's shape improved. I don't think you can write him off based on shape, Grant Holt is hardly an athlete with speed is he? He's a poacher. Sharp will score next season. My original point was not that he wouldn't cut it in the PL anyway, it was that you wrote him off at Championship level!
Since when did Sharp need pace to do his job - score goals. He hasn't needed it up to this point in his entire football career.
Come on here and someone thinks we'll finish top 8 and thinks Sharp is a useless lump who he thought wouldn't cut it at championship level. No wonder most other football teams fans think we're cocky and deluded. You're just the type of person who'll call for Adkins head if it doesn't go to plan to start with.
Sharp doesn't have a 'Southampton-type' personality does he? I know it doesn't matter if he pops in the goals (which he will), but, as far as I'm aware, he was the only player who said, 'We need to sign better players.' The others probably thought it, but recognised that there was no need to say it in the euphoria of promotion. Whatever he meant, it sounded like: not everyone is as good as me.
I love all this "Southampton way" stuff. I didn't know we had a 'way'. I know what I would like it to mean but I think it will take a few more years to become established.
I actually said Southampton-type personality, by which I mean chirpy and confident which they get from Adkins. But we've all used the term 'Southampton Way'...Cortese has had it put on a sign near the entrance at the academy. It's his ideal where we set an example for all others to follow...whether he thinks we're anywhere near that standard, only he knows.
i actually disagree, if anything i can see sharp being the type to think "i'm not going to get in the team!". i don't see him being a cocky bloke, i see him as a down to earth man.
To be fair i dont think Sharp has what it takes to be effective in the prem, please let him prove me wrong
Yes, I wasn't getting at you Fran it is just the general usage that amuses me. Still, its sounds good and lets hope that one day it will mean something to the rest of the world.
