Not today, unless I get a call from a certain somebody You'll get it before the media release it though - I'm faster than those ****ers. Usually by about 3 weeks
All this suspense for an announcement that Joe Pasquale will be reading out the team sheets at Anfield next season.
I can't get over Whelan talking about every single part of the Martinez debacle, imo we should come out and say yes we were going to give him the job but because of Whelan's antics we've changed our mind.
What correct information has Sky given in the past? Not being a dick here, I just don't remember off the top of my head :>
Newcastle did alright going from 11th (or 12th) to 5th with negative net spend. Its fact that Wigan have regressed since Martinez took charge from Steve Bruce. The players wanted to leave Wigan because they weren't as good and high up the table as they were under Bruce.
well guys be careful comparing net spends cos we all know one circumstance can throw the whole thing off.. newkie got 35mil... we got 50mil utd got 80mil... these threw off net spedns so did wigan get a massive fee for anyone.
Whelan is a bellend, but you can't blame him for the players they buy! As an example Martinez has spent quite a lot on strikers (Di Santo - £2m, Boselli - £6.5m, Sammon £600k, Scotland £2m) and none of them have turned out to be regular goalscorers (or even anything approaching a respectable total). So I don't think money is to blame overall here, obviously you shouldn't expect him to be challenging for Europe on his budget but I don't think being mid-table is too much to ask, especially when you look at the budgets of teams like Norwich, Swansea and even Blackburn under Allardyce. Maybe Martinez was fighting gravity at Wigan and that they're just destined to go down like Portsmouth, Wolves and other clubs who have punched above their weight for a couple of years. But still I don't think Martinez is qualified for the Liverpool job, and we need someone with experience of winning things.
So Martinez has signed plenty of poor strikers and has the record for longest losing streak in Premier League history. What's the use in increasing the transfer budget if we're more than likely to chuck it all away again? I hope FSG are a lot more prudent with future signings, hopefully the DoF will be someone like van Gaal or similar who'll be able to recognise when we're about to piss money up the wall.
I'm still very sceptical about Martinez. Seems like sky doesn't have any information then, end of the weekend and still nothing.
It's like being back in school, people whispering and keeping secrets to try and make themselves feel important.
