In a sane world no player or manager is worth more than £100,000 a year.

It's just stupid how players like Rooney earn more a week than a doctor does in a year, Eto'o on £350,000 is just daft

Thats well over 1m a month. Who the hell needs that sort of money? What the chuff could you do with it? One thing I've noticed over the years though is, no matter how much you earn, your missus is more than capable of spending it, whilst tutting and moaning at you when you go out for a few beers or get yerself a little treat like a new power tool.

i think part of the problem with the headline pay increase is the massive amount of taxt they pay in the UK as opposed to some dodgy low tax offer at20% to Sports stars in Spain .

It makes sense theoretically, but not morally. It's capitalism at its most vacuous, we pay because we can. It makes the gap between the richest and poorest in society even further for an unjustifiable reason. Not that i'm a socialist lefty or anything :p

Supply and demand is the best way to decide income in a perfect (or near perfect) market. Whether CEOs of large businesses are operating in a perfect market or there's a conspiracy to fleece shareholders and customers is a different matter.

They are if they make that amount for their clubs, and that's exactly why they're paid a lot.

    This.

why would offering rich people even more money ensure theyll work for you, if thats the only incentive then thats the reason why loyalty and morals have disappeared

Nuts. They have a manager who has just won the champions league. A manager who clearly gets on with the players. WHy risk throwing that much cash at something that will screw it up.

This is more to the point.

Abramovic is just mad. Last season he was mopre bothered about doing what the media wanted and having a 'new' young Chelsea team than actually getting results and now he's more bothered about having a 'big name' manager. What goes on in that man's head?
