I'm absolutely obsessed with cricket and it's a nice filler in the absence of football. 5 day test matches are great when you're off work, the sun is shining. For the most part it isn't exciting but it's patient, tactical, methodical and that's the beauty of it. I was fortunate enough to play for Northern Ireland as a schoolboy and we played in Trent Bridge which was quite something. We got absolutely destroyed by players already touted for county teams but it's the taking part that counts. England have it all to do now, I'm hoping Anderson will be more settled with a night's rest and can pick off the tail order without giving away more runs. West Indies have certainly turned this around and England could be chasing down 350+ if they aren't careful.
In this match, a score of over 350 could be the clincher. Love having a test match on when I have a week off...you can still go and get a drink, stand in the sun for a few minutes, pull up the odd weed then wander back in. You should pay me to do this as I invariably miss a wicket
You must know my mum. She is not allowed to watch England play football, because when she goes outside, the lads score. When she wanders back in the front room, they concede. I suggest you concentrate on gardening from 11.00 - 11.30.
Haven't had to use it recently, but I used to go into the kitchen if I wanted Saints to score on TV. No longer have such superstitions as I now trust SFC. Let's hope the kitchen factor doesn't come into play in the PL.
Lovely day for a game of cricket! 80 overs to be played today for me...Slightly injured but will be charging in and batting 3 never the less
The equivalent of this is a woman having her nips pinched men would just laugh and women would just grimace - sorry but a ball in the meat and two veg makes me respond this way !!
I have never in 61 years ever seen that happen, whereas men indulge in sports and activities where their sensitive parts might as well have a target painted on them.
Never liked Trent Bridge for that reason...sometimes just drifts on and on. The experts always predict the wicket will deteriorate but it rarely does.
There was a netball game between Australia and NewZealand where it did happen and there were of course two targets to aim for !!
Just checked my lunch. I have seen one of the four wickets this morning and have scarcely left the couch!. 370 could still be good enough for the Windies. Let's see what England have got.
