Just had a wee interesting discussion about famous quotes that are actually rubbish. Bogey in Casablanca never said "play it again Sam" Jimmy Cagney never uttered "you dirty rat" Michael Caine never pronounced "not a lot of people know that". Then we went on to remakes of classic films that should never have been made. Here's a couple, see if anyone can add to this definite no-no list? The Italian Job Cape Fear.
Might be easier to list remakes that were actually worthwhile. Virtually every one has been either utter ****e or just clearly worse than the original.
The Day The Earth Stood Still. I mean, Keanu Reeves for ****'s sake. The robot in the original movie could out act him!
Mae West never said "come up and see me sometime" Michael Caine never said "Zulus, thousands of them" Should never have re-made The Wicker Man and George Lucas should have been shot for the 3 prequel Star Wars films. Agree about the Italian Job, what a steamer!
It's a great comedy. Don't know what you mean.
Thankfully have not seen the remake and would refuse to watch it. Reeves is basically just a plank of wood without the charisma.
Toby never said 'I take it up the arse' He said 'I like it up the arse'. Small things make a big difference.
