But it would possibly give us links to the richest club in the world that has got quite a few decent players?
Dunno what his record is but when i saw them on telly seem to recall quite a few big bruisers playing for them. He could bring a few of them with him, toughen our lot up a bit.
I'm no expert on Brentford, but I seem to remember they were in the play-off spots for quite a while, but tailed off towards the end of the season.
Interesting that he was manager at Molde before OGS and turned their season around, going undefeated and saving them from almost certain relegation before getting the chop (courtesy of wiki). So basically, he did all the hard work and OGS took the glory. Get him in!
Looking around I realised that he's only been there for last season. 9th place finish, 6 points + a fair bit of GD off the play-offs. 18-13-15. He's a hard one to judge record-wise. He was in charge of Lillestrom, Viking and Molde, which is obviously not the best platform for judgement. As for Brentford, I don't know if they're supposed to be relegation fighters, average joes or automatic promotion contenders, so I have absolutely no idea whether he's done well there.
Dave Whelan is saying there is no guarantee that Martinez would take the Liverpool job even if offered it. Looks like that's not a done deal by any means
After all of the abuse poor old Steve (and me) have received from Tigers supporters in the past, the dinner lady jibes, the unflattering mock up photos and the general insults, look what is likely to happen !!! I hope he gets the job and you might take back all of those insults and apologise to him. Mind you, knowing Tigers supporters he will now become the best thing since sliced bread, your mesiah and savior - you are a fickle lot !!!
Unless he gets offered silly money(let's be honest, we're all turned by money if the bar is high enough) he shouldn't bother. He'll just be another Woy. No wonder Liverpool are having trouble maintaining top-4 status when all they do nowadays is appoint has-beens and decent managers that have done well with bottom-half clubs.
Not sure, I think Dalglish made a lot of very poor signings. Martinez has every season end, lost his best players. So it's almost starting each season from scratch. I think Martinez is an outstanding manager, he started the blueprint at Swansea for pass and move football, which is why they are enjoying life in the Premier league now. I think he'll be a success at Liverpool, and get them playing the way Liverpool fans expect them to play. If he does go there, I would expect Moses to be a Liverpool player before the start of the season!
I think the point is he hasnt even done that. He hasnt done better than Bruce despite having access to more spending power.
Source? not saying you are wrong, but everyone seems to be "hearing" different things - and have been doing so for the last fortnight at least. How could Rosler be a better prospect that Abbot, Clark or any number of others that have already been mentioned?
One of the reasons Whelan thinks Martinez might not go to Anfield is that he would not necessarily have the final say in which players Liverpool buy
