Great news if it`s confirmed. Club record fee smashed by over double Dannys price tag means Rogers and Co. mean buisness next season, if they get some more quality in without over stretching the budget then buy buy buy !! I just hope the sweetners and clauses to get the deals done are`nt to high a price to pay !
And another reletively low injury season would be nice.

£7 million on a player...its brilliant! Have to laugh though, was reading an article on WalesOnline (i think it was :s) on lunch today and it was about Cardiff going in for Jay Rodriguez for £5.5 million and about it being audacious etc and how it will 'smash' the current Welsh transfer record and how it is Cardiffs currently with Chopra etc etc etc and that Swansea's is ONLY £3.5 million for Graham then this Siggy story started breaking and it appears that the writer has had to add something in after to say ' but that probably wont last as swans look to be ready to pay £7 million for Siggy'...boohoo' I have to say I found it very amusing.

Hopefully now we can pick up one or two cheap but experienced players, find another gem or two of a younger (got a feeling Situ will be surprise of the season this season) and see if we can emulate a Montpellier :) (obviously not win the league but top 6, somewhere in that region would be awesome)

I'd love to see Danny boy get some help in that lonely centre forward position, another up and coming Borini character would do, though I'd like to see our RF and LF doing more on target this season, maybe Rodgers can get both Sinclaire and Dyer shooting practice homework pre-season!................. <cheers>

I'm not going to start celebrating until this is confirmed. I don't want to build myself up incase it turns out to be claptrap. Keeping a lid on the old emotions here.

I don`t know how much truth there is in this, it`s from a Reading fan:

    theroyals says May 27, 2012 12:26pm

The reason this is taking so long for personal terms..... Is because if our Russian takeover is cleared by mid next week apparently reading are willing to pay 10mill for him and have already discussed terms with the sig... Bring him back where he belongssssss URZZZzZzZzZzZz

We wait & see what happens over the next few days?

    Oh yes, it`s from here

Yes of course he would know that before they are taken over, he has a crystal ball ! And how would any discussion have taken place before they own the club ? And as he is in Iceland on holidays I just can't see anything being discussed as we have not even sat down with him on this.

The Reading FC story is a Nonsense im happy to say, he will be discussing terms next week with the club and the rumour is that he knew what was going to be offered a few months back! the sticking point of the deal has always been if the two clubs could agree the fee for Siggudson. This has now been agreed and the rest is a formality apparently .

The deal also gives Siggudson a very large signing on fee that covers the short fall in his basic wage, which will be the highest ever for a swans player but not much more than current top earner DG.

For this deal to fall through requires 1 thing, Brenden Rodgers to depart from SCFC.
The board of Directors have made an investment in trying to build a top 10 prem team, Brenden will be given more money to spend if he feels its needed. The club see this as the time to invest heavily if its needed and they will be prepared to break the wage structure if it means securing the right player.

Siggudson will not be the only top class signing this season, at least thats what i was told out in Holland a couple of weeks back. Im not professing to know the clubs buisness at all and of course your all free to make up your own mind, just thought id share with what i was told by somebody close to the club,it doesn't matter anyway as we will all see the truth in the coming months, im sure there are plenty of supporters that have heard about the same plans, if ive heard it im sure plenty of others have

Great times ahead for all concerned at Swansea City F.C <ok>

If that's true classy, I'm one happy Jack.

My boy's out in Holland the weekend, playing a tournament in Arnhem, he loves the place.

Well, maybe i have set myself up for a fall mate...or maybe not!! i just thought id share what i was told by a Dutch Jack :)

Football is a very fluid game behind the scences isnt it but the word with Siggy is that he is a good young pro that realises playing every week will make him abetter player, having the right guidence to progress is the main factor for him apparently, 2-3yrs of playing well for us will net him and us a massive transfer to a big big club, this is the main thinking in the deal.
The opposite side is that if somebody comes in and offers a 5yr contract on 60k a week then nobody knows how he would react to such a mega deal, normally you would expect this kind of deal from a top 5 club but nowadays the likes of QPR and Reading with big backers are distorting this!!
By all accounts he is a sensible boy and sees our club and manager as somewhere where he will play every week, get good guidence and be in a shop window to move onto greater things. <ok>

Phil, you know that unless there's actual quotes then it's all just speculation, right? ;)
