Park Chu Young scored a cracking goal in a cup game so he can't be classed as a flop.

    Now Heskey ......

Skrtel is probably the cause of most of Liverpool's defensive problems. The fact that he's branded as some kind of super-defender just makes it all the more laughable. He's lightweight, out of position all the time, and always ends up running back to his own goal. Terrible defender who has been even worse this season than the previous.

SJW, I wouldn't call Heskey a flop, he's always been a flop! Also, why are people talking about Arsharvin, he was here half the season, and didn't play all of that either.

I'd forgotten about Park Chu Yeung, Savic, Chamakh and Roger Johnson though. I think Ramsey may qualify as a pretty big flop this season too.

I'm all for people having opinions mate but yours verge on comedy.

Skrtel and Agger formed the best defensive partnership in the league (we had the best record, along with Man City) right up until the injury of Lucas and then Agger (both in Dec/Jan). From then, it was Skrtel carrying Carra, who looks more and more like he's way past it.

I take 'flop' to mean someone with a reputation that dramatically underperformed or someone who clearly hasn't made the cut.

Anyway, my time would probably be:

De Gea (he arguably cost United the title, improvements or not)

Hanley (Or any Blackburn defender really)
    Carragher
    R. Johnson
    Warnock
    Downing
    Barton
    Ramsey
    Gervinho
Berbatov (though he barely got a chance)
    Carroll (despite his late form)

Subs: Chamakh, Torres, Anelka (while he was here), K. Davies, Adam, Rosicky (he was a waste of space/oxygen apart from a month or so).

It's a bit unfair to put Henderson, Savic, Park etc in. They're young, and Henderson was over-played because we were ****. Saying that Ramsey features.

You cannot in all seriousness say that Rosicky deserves to be in there, having helped Arsenal secure 3rd spot and another year in the Champions League, while Henderson is kept out? Who would you rather have had in your team? There is simply no contest there.

You can't put Marton Fulop in a flop 11, if it weren't for him, we'd all be off for a cold thursday night in japfuckistan.

Is everyone jumping on the bandwagon or you guys really think Gervinho makes the PL Flop 11?

He was on the first half of the season among our top 3-4 players, and got very few starts after the African Cup... in his first season with us.

I explained why pretty clearly. I acknowledged Rosicky had his little purple patch, but he's been awful the rest of the season and was (somehow) one of your worst players during your early slump. He didn't even look interested until Christmas time.

Henderson is 21, had an average season, yes, but in a team of poor performances and out of position. Not really a fair comparison to Rosicky, a seasoned international, experienced at a top club who only realised he was wearing an Arsenal shirt (after several years) a few months ago.

    I was just thinking that!

Gervinho was world class for the first half and everyone was raving about how much better he was than Nasri and how great it was to have him, a player that can easily beat people and set up goals 4 goals and about 8 assists, and didn't feature for the 2nd half

****ing ace isn't it! Torres turned it on a bit towards the end but considering his cost then he has to be mentioned. Good shout on Emile by some, though I do love him...

Either top wumming by some or there are some proper retards out there. Personally, I imagine it's embarrassed Scousers trying to get over their f#ck awful squad...

How does that make him a flop? I agree he was rubbish most of the season, but he's been rubbish every season. In the last couple of months he played like I've never seen before. So this is his best season at the club. THe total opposite of a flop.

I'll take this team as my favourite flop side of all the rest in this thread. Just the two front men make this team so damn terrible it isn't funny. The definition of flop should be theirs. But i'd go for Torres first and Carroll second, based on their MASSIVE price tags.

    Torres (£50m) - 6 goals and 4 assists
    Carroll (£35m) - 4 goals and 2 assists

This side would get relegated even though it costs so damn much. Money isn't everything i guess...

He has continued to flop. Before his patch he was literally one of the most disappointing players I've ever seen. A few nice flicks and passes for a couple of weeks do not make up for an awful, truly awful season.

Let's continue your logic: Carroll looked good for the last few games, why is he a flop? Moses played well for a few weeks, is he team of the year material?

I accept the point about him being poor since he signed however. Perhaps he's not as much of a 'flop' as a continued disappointment. I really liked him when he was in Germany for the record.

Do you have some sort of hate for QPR. 4 of the players in your line up appeared for QPR this year. Kenny was never expected to be brilliant. Traore has actually been very good this season, check out his cross for Mackie's goal vs Man city. Was Bradley Orr really expected to light up the Premier League? I agree with Barton though.

    My team:

    ....................................................Fulop...........................................................
    .........G.Johnson....R.Johnson...............................Dann....Warnock.........................
    .........Downing.............Barton................................Henderson...........N'Zogbia........
    .........................................Torres.........Carroll...................................................

Did not give my team much thought. Just went for the worst players. The team you put together is more accurate.

I assume despite your lack of indication that that was aimed at me.

    In short, yes. Good comeback.
