So long as we have Mensah at the club we'll never have a settled back four because of his various injury problems and when he's fit or even half fit, Bruce always brings him back into the side. I believe this unsettles the players who have to move aside to allow him back. This season he's also been found wanting for speed and is often beaten in the air. I wouldn't want to see him at the club even if he cost nothing. It's time to find a permanent CB, perhaps Ned and lets get Hutton from Spurs for RB.
Hughes wasn't bad for us! Just never more than a squad player really, played in Europe for us though, could sign him for when you're there next season
or Malouda for 12 million?! ****, yes! (http://www.sportingo.com/football/a19899_chelsea-offload-influential-midfielder-cutprice-summer-deal)
FYI Hutton closed down that right hand side better than anyone, in point of fact very little got passed him, but above all he would play the ball out of defence with an accurate forward pass. It made a significant difference to our game. Perhaps you prefer McCartney's hoof-ball approach with a hit and hope punt vaguely towards an out-of-form Kenwynne Jones?
I've been a big fan of Mensah but he seems to be off the pace this season for whatever reason and I would be reluctant to buy him now BUT if he isn't here next season will Gyan and Muntari be here? If these two are here regardless I would go for Samba.
