I didn't think I'd be saying this, but I'm starting to wish that we don't sign Hazard. Chelsea are now apparently favourites (despite Sky Sports News reporting only on Monday that we were his preferred destination) because both ourselves and City are unwilling to meet his £200,000 p/w wage demands! The world has officially gone insane. What has he done/achieved to ask for anywhere near that amount? Yes hes had a very good season, although in a league in which Montpellier were crowned champions it does bring into question the strength of that league. How many champions league campaigns has he featured in? Complete and utter lunacy. I'm not for one minute saying I wouldn't be delighted if we signed him, but if he thinks he's worth that amount of money after having achieved so little (Iniesta is on far less than £200,000 p/w) and would rather go to a team where he doesn't even know which manager he'll be playing for next season, then good riddance.
The contradictions of Sky Sports News is astounding. Part of me thinks Hazard is just messing with the media because he can. How often does a player give random clues to where he'll end up which all lead to a different club.
BTW Hazard wont get 200k anywhere. Clubs cant spend that sort of money. ALready whispers that City and Chelsea are going to have to offload players at massively reduced prices just to bring themselves into line. City are only offerring £110k for him which is much more realistic for one of the hottest talents in football right now, dont be thinking £25k a week cuts it at the very top for the very best young talent, 80k+ every time.
