Nick's been told he's sacked, it's now just a case of waiting for an official announcement from the club.
Great news!! (that it's finally over) we might get some progress on the new boss front now. Did I read somewhere Bruce was favourite?! He'd do a job until someone else came in for him, a mercenary if there ever was one!
You call it mercenary, I call it professional. At least he's honest. What I can't abide are these players kissing the badge (or the equivalent from the manager). I'll yell abuse at any City player (the exception being Andy Dawson) I see kissing their fcuking badge!
Not good news, but life is life. I was going to post this as a new thread but it sort of merges anyway. The club has issued a statement of intent in the season card announcement today. In bold letters it states that it will have a "top six budget". It also states that we had a top six budget last season, which with the high levels of wages paid to players could mean that there will be money freed up to invest in the squad. I think that the statement coming out now is a pre curser to the Barmby dismissed statement which will follow shortly. There will only be one statement, the new manager will be announced, a short message within it will say that due to the failure of NB's appeal etc.
Glad its finally done now we can move on. I wonder how quick we get a manager in now. If any of the conspiracy theories are true it'll be very quick. Personally I'd ignore the bookies don't think they have a clue. I think with just the Allams at the club, we'll find it hard to get information now.
I don't really want Bruce, I'm not a fan, BUT if you consider his stature in the game and his credentials as an experienced Premier League manager, it would be something of a coup for City to get him
I'd be happy with Bruce but The Allams would have to put their money where their mouth is because he would want a transfer kitty
Problem with Steve Bruce, apart from his big fat head (NB - i love that chant and will be gutted if he is our manager as we won't sing it anymore....unless we sing it in a loving way....unlikely), is that like every other manager that we are linked with he has done well with some teams but has had a mare at other teams. Football fans, especially City fans, will tend to look towards the negative, and who can blame us with our history, whoever we get though, we all need to get behind them and give them our full support, starting to get slowly more excited about next year than i was a few weeks ago
I thought someone yesterday said 100% for sure, we are not getting Bruce? Body language and the canteen at Allam Marine or something? I can't be arsed looking for the thread but I thought this was over? /confused
