It's easy to blame Tevez because after Barton he is the least popular player in the premier league, but what made Tevez give a little jab to Barton? Bet if you really wanted too and analysed the match you'll find Barton in Tevez's ear all match and probably trying physically intimidate him too. Even if you've played at Sunday league level you know intimidation tactics and verbal jousting are all part of the game. Whether we like it or not.
This is all correct. Personally I don't think Tevez did anything worse than get his run blocked off by Barton, anyway that's not really important. Even if there was niggle between them before this, it worked from Tevez's point of view because he got Barton to elbow him and get (correctly) sent off. Anyone who thinks what Tevez did is morally wrong, I'm afraid I have bad news for because Saints players do it too. Personally I though he would get four for the red card and six(ish) for the knee Aguero, but the FA have decided to give him a third ban for squaring up to Kompany. Well, I'm not complaining.
Sorry but Tevez punched Barton in the face, if the referee sees that it's a straight red card. Watch his right hand after they collide.
