As much as I've agreed with your general stuff over the past couple of days, I suggest you **** off.

If it was a load of kids ****ing over World of Warcraft or Diablo 3 (never played either of them) then fair enough, but I don't see what's wrong with the likes of Fifa and Football Manager.

    ****.

    No offence taken.

    It's kid games, ffs.

    Surely anyone can see that?

I probably came across massively aggressive there, I'm not actually too fussed what people think, I just don't think you're being very fair.

It's entertainment, that's all I can see. How it's any worse than sitting watching TV I have no idea.

Does anybody know any decent players on free transfers, loans or considerably low transfer fees I could get for City

Always surprises me how personal people get on here- they attack the online poster rather than the point they are making.

    Odd.

A tad contradicting considering you just randomly paid a visit to personally insult everyone who has contributed to this thread, don't you think?

To be honest, if you think it's for kids, that's your game pal. I personally don't care, I've played them since 2006 and I love them, they provide me with a bit of entertainment after a long day, goes really well with a cigarette and a cuppa.

As for other computer games, I play things like Command and Conquer, Prototype etc, but I wouldn't post about it on a football forum. That said, I wouldn't slag off anybody who did either.

Hard to help if you want to use default squads - I haven't used them for that long that I've forgotten.

With an updated database - Tom Lees from Leeds for under £500k (decent player to start with, great potential)
    - Van Aanholt from Chelsea for something like £375k.

I was trying to help by encouraging them to get out more and meet people. That's got to be better than being hunched over a console.

Not all teenagers lifes revolve around video games, I was just asking some questions to see if any other people on this board play Football Manager so I can get an honest opinion, some people like video games, some hate them, if you don't enjoy the topic then why would you post?

People do things by themselves all the time, it doesn't make them socially ******ed.

Started a new game today, King has been unreal for me and Cullen is doing a decent job, Fryatt is having a shakey start but getting there. Not signed anyone could do with another defender but no funds tbh

The best and most simple advice I can give you is this:

    1) Add second manager
    2) Take over Man City
    3) Sell all players you don’t want for massive fees (i.e McShane for £10 million)
    4) Wait for all transfers have been completed
    5) Retire second manager
    6) Go on spending spree!!

If you actually want to play the game properly then don’t try and recreate the magic 4-2-3-1 formation as it doesn’t work! I tried and tried to get it working properly but by December of the first season I was bottom of the league and resigned.

You have to get the tactics to suit the players in your squad. I took over Bristol Rovers in the January and employed the same tactics I’d set up for City and went from 14th to finishing 2nd. Although saying that, the tactics didn’t seem to work very well in League 1 and I got sacked in the November.

You have to be prepared to tinker with things. I found myself unemployed for the remainder of that season and then took over Preston who had been relegated to L1.

First season I lost in the play-off final despite signing Le Fondre and him scoring 45 goals in that season. This season I’ve switched to a fluid 4-3-3 set up to control the game from the start and after a shaky start I’m flying and now in the automatic spots.

Players who I would recommend you try and sign are:

    Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (Wolves)
    David Jones (Wigan)
    Pablo Counago (Free)
    Michael Coulson (Grimsby)
    Jamil Adam (Baldock Town)

I would also recommend you utilise Steve Walsh and send him on a scouting mission to Ireland where he will discover some real gems!

Also, when you search for players to sign, I always filter them by scout’s recommendation (the first column with the stars) as there are some very cheap players who come highly recommended and they are always worth a punt.

But then again, I’ve been through 3 jobs in as many seasons, so what do I know!!

The last time I did that was aged 11 on Championship Manager 03/04. It'd just bore the hell out of me now.

Mate, it's not about going out and meeting new people, I work all day everyday in a pub, I meet new people all the time, but sometimes it's just nice to have a bit of me time, you know? I don't want to be drinking everyday and 'socialising' all the time, once in a while (and I mean literally about once a week now :( ) I just like to sit down and unwind by managing City the way they should be, winning the Championship with 102 points with 33 goals from Kiko Macheda.
