I have to say for me it has not been an enoromous increase.....and certainly not unexpected. It also does not seem that the increases are that bad. Can any one tell me how they compare to other grounds?
Not this time I like my seat and will find the loot, after that it will be more selective unless I win the Lottery!
Yeah it was a great deal. I think I'll move to block 35 next season as I like the people around me in block 34, so I'll stay for one more season. I just hope there's space in block 35 the season after!

What we need is to bring back some proper (cheap) standing areas. Lets face it, many people seem to want to stand anyway (although not me even though I tend to yo yo a bit during the match) so why not have controlled standing areas? I'm sure the H&S people could figure out a way to make it safe and it would be a mega cheap way to increase ground capacities.
What needs to be remembered is that a portion of ticket sales this year will go towards covering the cost of the new ticket machines. I personally think it's very reasonable for a student price, genuinely contemplating the fortnightly commute from Cardiff.
£380 for me this year, £495 next year. Slightly bigger increase than I was hoping, but I'd always said I'd be happy with paying anything below £500.
Is it alright if I have a bit of a grump. it makes me feel a bit better, won't change anything though!
Oh, the Chapel is reverting back to the Chapel, and the Faimily stand back to the Family stand. So I'm one of those hit by the largest % increase, of 51% (£575, not £495)
Suffering the same chapel fate, very disappointing but appreciate that is a large section of the ground. Especially when away support will be higher. Not unexpected. Predicted not much change from £600. If we make a marque signing it will all be worthwhile
I have registered today (but been lurking for a while) to see if anyone can beat my nearly 6 year old son's increase. We sit in the Kingsland on the halfway line. He started watching for free in League 1 (free U8 ticket with any adult ticket), last year his season ticket was £100 (with a full price adult ticket). This year it will be £675 because we have suddenly become Kingsland Premium and there are no concessions. That is a £575 increase!! I think it is absolutely disgusting. My dad and I have had season tickets at St Mary's in the same seats since the ground was built. I started taking my son along 2 years ago and he loves it. Now we either have to move seats or pay over £2000.00 for an adult, an OAP and a 6 year old boy. If we move the the Kingsland wings (now known as the centre ) we will struggle to get 3 decent seats together as most will already be taken up by ST holders. By the way I have no objections about the adult ST price of £675.00 it is the fact that a young boy who is likely to support Saints for the next few decades is expected to pay so much (or rather the parents are expected to pay it).
I thought they said the increase last year (which was 20% from the year before) was to cover the cost of the new ticket system. Personally my ticket's going up over £150. I have the money so it's not an issue but it's the principle of going up by too much. They seem to think we're all rich and will renew whatever. If anyone is happy to pay more, please message me and I will give you my bank details and you can pay for mine.
Personally I was expecting a bigger rise than £575 for my renewal so reasonably happy on that front. Might have been nicer to see a bigger gap between renewal prices and new prices so that the new ST holders bear slightly more of the brunt of the ticket machines than those of us who followed in League 1 etc. I'm sure they will easily shift the new at even £50 higher.....
Cannot sleep in the warmth so i am going to have a rant! Well my ST increase amounts to a 66 percent increase which I think is annoying as I was expecting it to be only about 30 percent. What with the cost of fuel and travelling from near Derby for every home game its going to make it increasingly too expensive so annoyed they could not haves done more for the renewals. I also guess as mine is a premium seat they are getting ready to make it less attractive to be STH in the premium section. I like my seat so will stump up for one more season as I am excited about next season and enjoy the people around me
The largest increases are due to changes in seats to premium seats, especially when children are involved. Annoying but just a return to the previous situation. There were no concessions in the best areas when SMS opened. I know because my ST, when I had one, was central Kingsland. The bargains were introduced when they were trying to get people through the doors...not going to be a problem in the PL. The option is to move..the views are good wherever. We have enjoyed the fruits of the Leihberr's investment...so now must pay. I buy individual tickets and am expecting a large rise in those as well.
Whilst I do have some sympathy for you and your family, you might try looking at things this way; for the last 2 seasons, your son had one of the best seats in the house for a total cost of £100. So you've had a right result, really.
I guess from a financial point of view, it makes sense ("it" being both reverting the Chapel back to its old, non-family, status and including the premium sections either side of the half-way line). Not only does that obviously bring in more cash from those of us who don't wish to move, but it will also presumably incentivise some ST holders to move into cheaper seating (say, from the middle of Kingsland to the far corner of Kingsland), thus leaving fewer cheaper seats available for matchday purchase and instead more expensive seating available. So rather than selling 1,000 tickets in the corner for a particular match, they can sell 1,000 tickets on the half way line for twice the price. And over the course of the season, I'm sure that will vastly out weigh the "loss" they'll have made from the original owners of those seats moving to cheaper ST seats. Take the Itchen/Chapel corner for example (which is the closest corner to me), I can always tell if a game is well attended by how full that corner is. Rarely was that corner ever particularly full up when we had crowds of under 22k or 23k. But when those additional people were attracted to come along, and sat in that corner, they presumably paid a fairly low price (in comparison to elsewhere in the ground) for those tickets. Now that there will be more matches to attract them along to, better to try and not having them buying those cheap match tickets. Lets force them out of the corner, and nearer to the half way line, and get them to pay top dollar. And you do that by first pushing ST holders into that corner - and if they don't want to go, well they pay a premium for staying where they are.
For the reasons you describe it makes perfect sense and I can understand why the club has done it & I'm not really complaining; I'm just slightly irritated at my seat being "upgraded" from 'wing' to 'centre'. I'm actually thinking that if I'm supposedly in the centre now, I might just move in a bit more so I can get a better view for the "same" price. And when big matches come along, I'll be able to buy a second ticket for my mum or my brother or whoever right next to me; something I couldn't do this season as I was surrounded by ST holders. I just know that as an ST holder loads of people will ask me for tickets for the category A games & if it wasn't because I want to take family and friends I could probably get some of the cost of the ST back over the season.
