I thought you signed him as a defensive/holding mid?

From what I've seen over the last couple of years, he's not that strong, no a great tackler, not the best on the ball, but his passing and link up playing with RVP is exceptional.

Is he a creative mid now?

He is very strong and shields the ball well, he breaks up play and tackles excellently, he is GREAT on the ball (very skillful) and his passing in the final third is first rate. He is an all round top player, let down by his knack of playing poor passes out of defence and heaping pressure on the team.
