Didier Drogba.... Ta Ta!

£120k over 8 year minus tax works out 24 million to be fair but in the next 2 years before he retires he can make £30 million tax free who would say no, not me for 1

 

I heard something a while ago that Didier Drogba is Iory Coast's third biggest source of income, throuhg his charity work. Might be wrong though

 

He's gotta make sure he's set up for life as the big earning lifestyle will soon be gone. I don't blame him he's gone out on the highest possible note. Fair play too him

 

If he does chuck in for charity than I salute him.

I can't agree with the sentiment of most on here. Yes he is a very rich and doesn't need the money. But disloyal? To be honest that is laughable in Drogba's case. He's been there 8 years and scored 100 odd goals in 220 odd games. That is very loyal in modern terms, and pretty loyal in old terms. He has had plenty of opportunity to leave, probably could have earned more money in the likes of China or Russia over the last 3 or 4 years, but has stuck around and performed to a very high standard. He's done it all there and wants a new challenge. Becks did it (maybe a bit too early for my liking), Anelka and countless others. Its mainly about money but there is no doubt these elite guys are carrying the sport further around the world and helping to develop it further.

Top player and excellent service to Chelsea. I'd happily take some of that disloyalty at our club. Seems a nice fella too when interviewed too and can take a bit of stick for his diving etc. Doesn't get ruffled, he just laughs it off.

Unfair hatred for Drogba... sure he dives a lot, but he's a decent person.

Also he's linked with European clubs, Marseille, Juventus amongst a few others.

Seemed decent on Graham Norton, though the diving does put me off him and if Drogba goes to China, is it any difference to Anelka going there or Beckham going to America.
