Quick Question: 8 & 11

    Just a thought, given the imminent departure of Guthrie and Lovenkrands amongst a few others, would anybody else like to see Vuckic and Ferguson promoted to the No. 8 and 11 shirts next season? It would do wonders for their confidence with the club effectively confirming that they have a long future here.

    Vuckic would fit in to the no. 11 easy seeing as he's an attacking midfielders. But number 8 for Fergy not sure like.

    probably more likely to be ferguson in the 11 and vuckic in the 8...

    Personally I'd love a proper shakeup.

    Colo to take the number 5, with 2 going to an incoming right back.
    Cabaye to take the vacant number 7, he's a Robert Lee not a holding midfielder.
    Tiote to take 4.
    8 I'm not sure on, has to be central so maybe Amalfitano? Or even Jonas?
    11 to Fergie, Jonas or Marveaux.

    Probably wouldn't happen, especially with the established names, but at least use the spare ones!

    The old 1-11 days are long gone and the squad numbers have no bearing on what position anybody plays.

    was fine when players didn't have names on their backs and the shirts were laundered and the same ones used every week. Brings back some great memories though of our players that wore those numbers in yesteryear.

    Krul - 1
    Colo - 2
    Santon - 3
    Dreamboat - 4
    Tiote - 5
    Marv - 6
    Jonas - 8
    Cisse - 9
    HBA - 10
    Demba - 19 (He likes the number)
    Saylor - 27 (He said himself he likes 27 because is the same number Phillipe Albert wore.

    In days gone by the numbers wouldn't have gone above 11 for anybody, no matter how good they were. Wor Jackie might have liked #90 but there's no way he'd have got it.

    HBA would have been #7 and Jonas would have been #11.

    If we get De Jong I'd say he'd get the number 11 shirt. Number 8 will most likely be Amilfitano or Butterfield if we get him

    One of 8 and 11 will go to Amalfitano, the other to Marveaux I'd imagine.

    TBH, if Fergie and Vuckic need a different number to have confidence they have a future, then there's something wrong...

    They will get games if we qualify for the group stages of the eufa cup, however cant see them breaking into the forst eleven unless they light it up.
