I remember getting rinsed when I was at school for the amount of money we paid for Drogba. The next season he was making them eat their words. By far and away the best striker I have ever had the pleasure to watch. A consumate professional. The premier league will e worse off without him. The polarising opinion he has create just goes to show how good he really is. I'm proud to say I've witnessed one of the true greats of football play for my club. Thank you Didier!
SCBB--I loved your post! I'm an oldie and find it great to see the new young bloods get involved! When I was at school I always remember a non-Chelsea mate of mine telling me that my hero Jimmy Greaves was leaving to go to play in Italy , we having recieved £99,999! Less than a reserves weeks wages these days! I couldn't concentrate on anything else that happened in school that day! Greavesie was gone.. just like Drogs today! We have to move on!
I ****in' despised Drogba when he came out & said he felt physically sick when he realised what he'd done by signing for us and wasn't even going to travel to England because he reckoned he'd made the biggest mistake of his life. In the past he has gone missing often during games and many times never bothered to even turn up so his legendary status in my eyes has been tarnished but I'm willing to forgive him after winning us the CL and because of the amount of money he gives away. Good luck to him in the future but I'll never forget that outburst against the club. Great player - undoubtedly. Legend - Sorry but I can't forget.
Agree with everything on here. Not only one of our greatest players, one of the best men to ever be associated with our Club. Wish you a great finale to your career wherever you choose to go, and look forward to seeing you back in our colours in the future in any capacity. We need more people like Didier actively at our club in some capacity.
CFCTel> it's the end of an era and hopefully the end of Joses shadow. It's sad to see him go but at least it's on a high. It is also a good sign that the board won't be bullied by players for wages, saving us a fortune on wages.
When asked if one day he would return to manage the club he replied - âYes, why not,â he smiled. âI would come back and cut the grass if they asked me.â
Fantastic player, I will miss him, apart from Shearer I'd say the Drog is the best striker the EPL has seen. I wonder who you will bring in to replace him...RVP? Sent from my Android using Tapatalk
Exactly what I thought when I got to the part where it said he has been a consumate professional and an inspiration to the younger players. and ...a note to Drogs Droba ( when he's managed to stay on his feet ) has been one of the best all round strikers in the Premier ( there I've said it ! ) oh...... and at least Yurilly knows the actual name of the cup your lot have just acquired. yours, Mr. Pedantic.
You're a little hypocritical there, Mr Pedantic How many footballers have ended a civil war? That is what is meant by Drogba being an inspiration.
you forgot knobhead, turd and **** I've admitted that Drogba has been one of the best strikers in the EPL........... The article clearly alludes to football - and at no stage anything to do with a civil war.
I may well be all of the other 'titles' bestowed upon me during my brief sojourn on here - but, please I am not a ****er. All the wonderful 'accolades' thrown at me.....and on a site where the moderator uses the word 'libelous'. Thank you & goodbye.
My all time favourite movie star was James Dean! So in his tearful goodbye interview--what was Drogs wearing? Yup--a T-shirt with James Dean on the front!! How cool is that Drogs!! He gets cooler by the minute!! Has Drogs got a young brother we can sign up?
