Player of the Season!

BARTON- different class and is now showing why we bought him.

It could go to Tioté, Colo, Enrique or Nolan, but I'm sure I read a fact or something that we haven't won a game without Barton, is this true? Either way he's been immense, I don't think I've seen him have a poor game whereas the others have (albeit only a handful between them). But tbh I don't care who gets it, for the first time in years we seem to have a team of players willing to play for the shirt and for once not underachieve, I'd give them all player of the year...apart from Perch he can **** off.

 

*Bartons improved for us, but his quality has always been there. I dont think he's improved as a player over the last few years, but as a person he has and its allowing him to be consistently good. Best has improved more than Willo in my eyes.

 

In order-

Barton- Class act all season, I'd say potentially world class in an average team.
Tiote- Truly unbelievable signing, has missed out on top spot due to suspensions and needless yellows.
Jose- Only just behind Tiote, has had two or three off games though. Has really come into his own in the latter half of this season.
Nolan- Not a great athlete but a real grafter and clinical in front of goal. Great leader.
Coloccini- Again, awesome in the latter half of this season, has had a few shaky performances though. Still stuggles with aerial threats imo.

I agree with the five candidates; Barton, Colo, Enrique, Nolan & Tiote.

I'd go for Barton because of his overall influence and contribution, as has been said we haven't won a game without him.

Tiote runner up because he gave us the competitive steel that kept everything together, if he hadn't missed so many games through suspensions i may have gone for him.

Colo 3rd a rock at the back all season, Nolan 4th because of his goals. The Bull 5th - solid but never quite as exceptional as I've come to expect from him.

Simpson as most improved player and young player.

 

I think everyone is agreed that it is between joey, jose, tiote, nolan and collo. I cant pick one to be honest.

Someone should make a 2010/11 season awards thread with stuff like best player, worst player, best goal, worst miss etc but I cant be bothered!

You cant say we wouldnt have any points without Barton, Tash, we havent played that many without him and a few of them we were without Tiote as well.

Nolan has 12 goals, Barton has 5, and has created 7 I think so in terms of goals its difficult to say.

My player of the year has been Tiote, followed closely by Barton, Colo (2nd and 3rd, no particular order) and Enrique and Nolan (4th and 5th, no particular order).

 

This. Hard to pick just one when all of them have been excellent

 

I'd have to go with Nolan. He played a major part in the best football game I have ever been to. Never will I forget that day or his hatrick. What a legend! Also he has been our best captain since Shearer. Not to mention he is our top scorer!

Coloccini, Tiote and Barton are joint second for me.
