Can this 'comment' be construed as the dreaded vote of confidence that usually signifies the end of a managers tenure?

From reading the SAFC board since Sunday it seems there are a fair few worried about the potential for relegation now and the blame for the recent decline of the 'Number 1 team in the NE' is laid at Bruce's door.

    Worrying times?

  2. Despite the fact that we all love taking the piss out him, you have to admit he's done a good job with Stupid Arse Face Club <ok>

Yes losing 5-1 to your local rivals, and being sucked into the relegation battle after no win in 7 is a good job <ok>

I don't think so. To be fair, they're only a point behind us, have played Man City, L'pool and Arsenal in recent weeks and have a relatively easy run-in (West Brom, Wigan, Wolves, Birmingham) so they should be alright.

In many ways, I wouldn't want them to go down. I love the 5-1 annihilations too much! :emoticon-0116-evilg

  8. Yes but they could have done alot worse, and it's ridiculous to even think that the Mackems will gan doon.

Gyan and Welbeck upfront, and the easiest run of games in the league.

The only reason I wouldn't want Bruce to leave is that they'd probably get Hughton in as a replacement. Then I'd always have a horrific soft spot for them.

They might not survive this season. With 43 points at least probably needed to guarantee safety and they're carrying the worse form in the league into battles against lower teams with more fight. If they do get relegated they're screwed without a pot to piss in and players who will all go back from their loans. If they dont get relegated they're equally screwed with the need to buy half a team including a replacement for Bent.

Bruce is a major contributer to their downfall. I honestly think that he was so pissed off that we were singing songs about him all he was interested in was getting above us. A mixture of the spoiltbrat mentality he no doubt got from Man u and the 'so long as we're NE top dogs' menatality of the mackems.

We may only be a point ahead of them and they may have a nicey-nicey chairman, but theres only one club going in the right direction.

Having said all that if they lose against WBA this weekend (which i think they will) then Bruce will probably have to go back to making movies like Mrs Doubtfire and Toy Story (as Mr Potato head).

They havn't scored in their last 3 or 4 games, and there run in is far from easy IMO.
West Brom unbeaten since Hodgson went there, Wolves were on a good run before Staurday, Wigan are a tough team to break down and are still fighting, West Ham are also biting back.
I can see them struggling against these teams cause they are scrapping for their lives and have a bit of a battling quality about them. Something Sunland don't have IMO

On a diffrent note, they have a few African nation player in their squad and have seen they are linked to a Cameroon player. They'll lose half their squad when it comes to the African nations.
But I'm sure Brucie has thought of this, Hasn't He????

They've basically struggled since Bent went, ironic for a club that has always called us a one man team <ok>

If they do go down, does anyone think it may be worth putting in a bid for Gyan??? Would be a great striker for us, and would certainly want to leave.

I do think there is every chance they could be dragged into it as Gyan and Wellbeck are not scoring.

Take away the 2 goals scored by Bent in January before he was sold and it's not great reading:

Gyan 4 goals (last scored 12th Feb)
Wellbeck 1 goal (last scored 1st Jan)

Since the start of the year in a run of a 11 league games the following have also scored:

    Bardsley - 2 goals
    Richardson - 4 goals

Now on a run with no goals scored in 4 games.

& I thought we were the ones who might struggle for goals after Carroll's departure.

How well things have turned out :emoticon-0116-evilg

If I remember correctly, didn't they go about 14 games without a win last season? Maybe Bruce is trying to beat his record!

Bruce has bought and sold a lot of players since he has been at that ****hole, and the squad is HIS squad, therefore he has no excusefor them being in the position they find themselves in. His mate Fat Sam (I really dislike that fat arogant ****) kept harping on about their injuries when he was commentating on Sunday, but every club has bloody injuries (just look at ours) and Bruce has had the time to assemble a squad with enough strength in depth to cope.

If they lose against WBA I think that the fans will start the "Bruce Out" chants. Ellis Short is already pissed at the fans lack of commitment in attending matches and has stated that "relegation is not an option", so if they lose to West Brom will he take action?

Also they have shipped 20 goals in 11 matches since the start of the year.

That's contributed a whopping -8 to their goal difference.
