Hi all, im new to all this but have been reading everyones posts for ages. I thought id share my views on all the recent events at carrow road surrounding Holt & Lambert.
i can see resons to belive and to shoot down the majority of theories to be posted by sensible city fans. However i think its just impossible to say what has triggered the transfer request from holt its seems incredibly impulsive whatever the reson behind it obviously the most likely reasons are wants to play for a bigger club or wants more money but i wouldn't be that surprised if its something no one has even suggested. On the whole not booing at holt debate i agree but think the timing & silence of the whole thing has understandably left fans feeling let down and very frustrated myself included. With Regards to Paul Lambert i think he will go for talks with both villa & liverpool but i belive he will remain city boss at the start of the 2012/2013 season or maybe thats just hope

Welcome, and a very accurate username!

Agree with what you say, I believe Holt just wants more money, I'm not about to **** on him for it, I believe he and Lambert will be with us next year

I fear for our survival chances if we lost both Holt and Lambert. That's like removing the flux capacitor from the Delorean.

It would be a massive blow but no one is irrerplaceable. Saying that i cant think of twom replacements that would fill the hugr void that would create.

Why so negative Canary F1? We could get in players or a manager who will take us even further. I like most do not want to lose either Holt or Lambert, but if they do go , we move on and wish them well. Bit disappointed in Holt's actions, especially if they are financial, but let's see what happens.

Here is a couple of names if they do go. Manager Gus Poyet, Chris Hughton, Malkay ..etc. All would do well for me. Strikers such as Rhodes or Rodriguze would also be positive. Add Kitely from Wolves and we improve. Not saying we would get these but our club is in a better position at the moment and would be attractive to many managers and players.

As I said in an earlier thread of two, players and managers will come and go and its us fans who remain. That is the way of things.

Can't disagree with this. I've resigned myself to any eventuality now.

They may both stay, they may both leave. I don't want it to happen, but if it does, it does. What is certain is that WE will still be here, because we're lifelong fans and they are employees who have merely been here for a bit.

I think the two irreplaceable men at the club is McNally and Bowkett.

Think for one it's much harder to find Chief Exec's and Chairman who run a club as well as them, otherwise every club will be doing it.

As long as Mcnally is there I think he can find a good manager if we ever needed to replace Lambert.

With Holt the thing I think we would need to replace the most is his character and leadership rather than his goals. I think Howson could step in and captain a side personally, done it with Leeds at a young age and that's no mean feat.

I don't want Lambert or Holt to ever really leave but I think they can be replaced because McNally and Bowkett know their stuff. Doncaster didn't have a clue and I think it's a lot more difficult to replace chairman and Chief execs purely because they don't get sacked like a manager would be.

Really well said and I too feel that McNally especially is pivotal to our future success (along with Delia and Michael). As I said on another thread "Both PL and GH have been pivotal to the club's success and I dare say we'll find life tougher without either/both of them, but I know that occasionally I've questioned PL's team selection (especially against Liverpool) and I'm sure a fully fit and fully functioning Morison could wear the 'No 9' shirt with pride and ability (his performance against Swansea at home was testament to that)". Also, who knows what Vaughan being fully fit for even part of the season is capable of???? <ok>

I will be really disappointed if I hear any booing of Holt on Tuesday. Best course of action would be to show the guy (again) how much his talent and leadership means to everyone involved in the club.

I'm relying on you lot to get some "We ****ing love Grant Holt" chants going round the ground. Let's try and show him we want him to stay

if somebody can find me a player who has achieved and done more for our club in three years than grant holt has then i will applaud them. the man is not a mercenary - he earns small fry in comparison to the ability he has shown. he wants and deserves more money. if norwich can't afford to pay him or if we can't agree to the extra years then he has every right to ask to leave. any idiot booing needs their head looking at. if, as we all suspect, he doesn't even want to leave the club, then i can't think of a mechanism to shift him out of the door quicker than by booing him for simply not understanding his position.

I honestly don't think booing will make up Grant's mind in anyway at all. He's a grown man, an experienced player, he knows players get booed for various reasons. He will be expecting some boos, it won't hurt him at all, he knows it's his fault.

That said anyone who does boo him is an idiot and should be banned.

I honestly think that the talk of England and so on has turned his head and he has lost it.
He will regret this nonsense forever IMO
